The flesh is an enemy against the things of God!

The changing of the guards is coming in this season!

The LORD spoke to me that Moses was a great man, but the time had come for him to relinquish the reigns to another. Which was Joshua.

As I began to meditate upon what the LORD was saying to me, I realized that even though God was assigning Joshua to take over where Moses left off, God still wanted Joshua to carry on just as Moses had and it was not to take away and to destroy what Moses had already done, but to add on to it and to make it better just as it was with the Old Testament laws!

God never did away with them, but He came to add an addendum to it which was Christ our Lord!

Moses, who had once stood in the gap and made up the hedge, was going to be retired by God and God let Joshua know that he was to carry the torch on, by keeping His commandments and His statues, but if he did not, God would not be with him any longer!

As I kept meditating upon the Word of God, I ran across this portion of scriptures:

“While Joshua was there near Jericho: He looked up and saw right in front of him a man standing, holding his drawn sword.
Joshua stepped up to him and said, “Whose side are you on – ours or our enemies’?”
He said, “Neither. I’m commander of God ‘s army. I’ve just arrived.”
Joshua fell, face to the ground, and worshiped. He asked, “What orders does my Master have for his servant?”
God ‘s army commander ordered Joshua, “Take your sandals off your feet. The place you are standing is holy.”
Joshua did it,” Joshua 5:13-15 MSG.

God said to me that sometimes we can be so busy fighting, that we fail to discern that God has sent us help!

I believe that the reason that Joshua did not recognize the angel, was because he, like Balaam, was so busy trying to complete his assignment that flesh had taken over! (Numbers 22:21-39)

You see, the angel of the LORD moved on ahead and stood in a narrow place where there was no room to turn, either to the right or to the left.

When the donkey saw the angel of the LORD, it lay down under Balaam, and he was angry and beat it with his staff. Then the LORD opened the donkey’s mouth, and it said to Balaam, “What have I done to you to make you beat me these three times?” (Numbers 22:26-28)

Just as the Captain of the host did Joshua.

Joshua was not sure who the angel was it had been hidden from him and this is why he asked him, “Whose side are you on? Mine or the enemies?”

The angel said to him neither, but informed him that he was God ‘s army commander (it was not until then he fail to the ground and gave reverence and respect) and gave Joshua a message, “Take your sandals off your feet. The place you are standing is holy.” Joshua did it.

The LORD begin to reveal to me that many in the body of Christ are not able to discern God from the enemy, because they are so caught up in the fight and the battle that they are missing God and the help He is sending unto them: just as Joshua did!

The LORD began to reveal to me that no matter what assignment or mandate he gives us, we should never ever leave out holiness and sanctification!

And, not only that, but when we find out we have failed to honor God, His leaders and the things of God, we need to be quick to repent, as Joshua did!

To dishonor a woman or a man of God is the same as dishonoring God; even the things of God!

No elevation or blessings can take place in our lives when we fail to do so!

This present generation is a generation that has failed to show reverence and respect for both the people of God and the things of God!

“And they rose early in the morning, and went forth into the wilderness of Tekoa: and as they went forth, Jehoshaphat stood and said, Hear me, O Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem; believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper,” 2 Chronicles 20:20.

So many are wondering why God has not honored them.

Take a good look at the way you honor God’s people and the things of God and you will find that the ground you stand on IS holy ground!
