Mirrors & Reflections
The Holy Spirit woke me up at about 3:00 a.m. this morning and began to speak to me regarding the opinions we have of others and the opinions that others have of us.
As He spoke, I heard the Father’s message, which was, “Robin, people see the reflection of themselves upon you, as their judgments are merely the mirror of their soul, which they cannot see past.”
I was astounded and asked God to give me more, knowing that He was enlightening my heart to bring me clarity and freedom for myself, as well as for others in sharing this truth.
One of my favorite scriptures, in which the Glory to Glory Sisterhood series is based, is 2 Corinthians 3:18.
“And all of us, as with unveiled face, [because we] continued to behold [in the Word of God] as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are constantly being transfigured into His very own image in ever increasing splendor and from one degree of glory to another; [for this comes] from the Lord [Who is] the Spirit.” 2 Corinthians 3:18 AMPC.
The word “mirror” here in 2 Corinthians 3:18 is the Greek word katoptrízomai, which is pronounced kat-op-trid’-zom-ahee meaning, “TO MIRROR ONESELF, to see reflected, and behold as in a glass.” (SCG # 2734).
This comes from two Greek words kata and optanomai. Kata means among and measure, as well as a few other things.
For this teaching “among and measure,” are the words God wanted to bring to light. Optanomai in Greek means, “to gaze.”
Thus, God showed me how we make measurements of that which we gaze upon.
I explain this in greater detail in my latest fiction book, Clawing & Gnawing, through the physics lesson of Wave-Particle Duality, which basically demonstrates that ALL MATTER is composed of both a wave and a particle.
Wave-Particle Duality has two specific premises that hold the theory together. The first one is “realism,” which is the concept that just because you do not believe that a thing exists does not make it real; it is real regardless of your opinion.
The other concept that holds this theory together is “determinism,” which basically denotes that a value of a given thing exists before we look at it.
However, when we put our gaze upon the certain object, our observation and measurement of it, gives to the object whatever value we unknowingly through our subconscious put upon it, thereby determining the actual value of what it is to us.
We can understand determinism a bit better through this analogy. Let’s say you have been given a box and you open it to find a diamond ring inside of that box, being elated at such a wonderful gift.
However, let’s say another person opens it and looks at the diamond ring and instead of seeing the actual value of it they instead see it and think it is only a rhinestone, an imitation of the real thing.
The value given by the first recipient is greater than the second, and why? Because the second one’s opinion of the diamond, is not the REAL measurement of the stone, but instead is the reflection of themselves; without knowing it they subconsciously already predetermined the value of the stone!
Hang in there and you will get this. Now let’s say our thoughts are so powerful that when the second recipient looked at the diamond, believing it to be a rhinestone, the actual stone ended up transforming to their perceived judgment, thereby losing its true value altogether.
Would that not be catastrophic? Well that is what we are doing each and every day, and what others do to us, when we or they measure one another, not against the reflection of Christ Jesus, which is righteousness, but rather measure subconsciously from our own judgments, which is truly a reflection of ourselves casting our own imperfect image upon one another.
Having been an outpatient psychotherapist many years ago, I know this but with this angle of seeing things, I came to KNOW IT, seeing what the Father was revealing to me.
He began to share with me, that when others have seen me and did not see HIS VALUE of who I am in Christ Jesus, looking at my circumstances or what I believe God has called me to, that the reason they could not acknowledge it or see it was because they themselves were casting upon me ungodly judgments, which was truly the reflection of themselves.
When they looked at me, they did not see me, but rather were looking in a mirror subconsciously of themselves, and putting upon me the inaccurate judgments of their own person deep within them subconsciously, not realizing that their judgments were their own imperfections and actually how THEY SAW THEMSELVES!
In therapy we call this projection, where others project onto you what is actually within them. However, this is what was so amazing.
God showed me that we all do this subconsciously on some level when we look at one another, if our mirror is not that of 2 Corinthians 3:18.
Our reflection should not be of ourselves, and our imperfections, but rather the love and maturity of Christ Jesus, where we are being perfected in His love and reflection.
We are not to judge one another, but only examine the fruit, where we know a tree by its fruit. (Matthew 12:33)
However, what most people do, is error when we look at one another, and subconsciously because we are not looking at Christ Jesus, we do not value the gift of God in one another. Instead of seeing the honest struggles that are fashioning us into the Call of Christ Jesus, we put our own judgments, seeing the person’s failings or shortcomings, because we are continually looking subconsciously at ourselves each time we look at someone else!
God showed me that others cannot even receive the gift of what God has put inside someone nor do they acknowledge it, because of their critical heart not of others but of themselves.
They are unable to see the reflection of Christ’s love in the other person, whose destiny is being shaped in front of their eyes, which is a beautiful gift like that of a diamond!
Instead a person sees a rhinestone, devaluing and predetermining what that gift is. This is where Wave-Particle Duality comes into motion.
Wave-Particle Duality shows us that all matter is both a wave and a particle, and that there is an internal clock within the wave that drives the particle to where it needs to be, or can we say where it needs to arrive.
Wave frequencies are invisible to the naked eye, and when they change into a particle (matter), we are able to determine its value.
However, the value of that which is invisible to the eye is still real! Just because we do not see electrons does not mean that they do not exist.
However, this is the cool thing. If our minds could wrap around the fact that the observer gives value to that which they are seeing, then maybe we can see the miracles of God in our life, as we perceive to see through righteous eyes and hear through righteous hearing!
This is what the Word of God said of Jesus, Messiah!
“3 And shall make Him of quick understanding, and His delight shall be in the reverential and obedient fear of the Lord. And He shall not judge by the sight of His eyes, neither decide by the hearing of His ears; 4 But with righteousness and justice shall He judge the poor and decide with fairness for the meek, the poor, and the downtrodden of the earth; and He shall smite the earth and the oppressor with the rod of His mouth, and with the breath of His lips He shall slay the wicked,” Isaiah 11:3-4 AMP.
Jesus did not come to earth looking at us through the lens of man, but rather, being Son of God, He came to earth looking at us through the lens of God that revealed the value of our soul to the Father, which is more precious than all the treasures that are in this earth!
The internal clock that drove Jesus to the Cross was the Father’s love from eternity, longing to be near His children, reconciling us to Himself; we are of God!
When our reflection is to see through righteous eyes and make judgments of others through the eyes of Christ Jesus, then our mirror reflects His love!
We are able to see others in front of us, not judging them, but rather loving them! We see the value of who they are meant to be, praying for one another in our most holy faith, knowing that He Who has began a good work in us, will finish it!
The amazing thing is that, once wave gets to where it is supposed to be as its moving through the atmosphere, once it arrives, and the value of it has been determined, then the matter of it shows up!
An electron wave in time when it arrives to its location causes the wave to change into particles that now can be seen.
It has been there all the time in waveform, invisible to our eye, but truly real. Within time, the actual matter of it shows up.
Likewise, we know that we exist because we see our body and that doesn’t require us to have faith, to bring it into existence.
However, what does take faith, is when we DON’T SEE our destiny or that of others, and somehow we tap into the Mind of Christ Jesus through His righteousness, and by faith we see past our own reflection, laying down our own life as a friend for one another, and we choose to see past our imperfections, and into the precious soul that God has given us for a brief moment, where we can see the GLORY OF GOD!
We have an unveiled face, and no longer see our reflection, but instead our mirror has become Christ, so that is what we see when we look at others, reveling in the fact that because of love, we are able to see the beauty of Christ, the power of the Cross!
Let us be careful not to look at one another through our own limitations, and when we make judgments of how someone is or what they should do or not do, let us instead choose to be the love of Christ Jesus, and see them through love, knowing that the value that God has put upon that soul is invaluable!
When we arrive to this point, then we are true servants of God, not from the standpoint of our conscious mind choosing it, but rather it is deeper, because it gets into our subconscious where we have fashioned within the Character of Christ!
A saint crying out to God for fullness of deliverance and the manifestation of salvation.
