“…that the name of our Lord Yeshua may be glorified in you, and you in him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Yeshua the Messiah.” 2 Thessalonians 1:12.

Paul wrote that to believers in the Thessalonian Church (ecclesia).

He wrote the called in Rome they were called to be holy ones/ saints and they were called according to God’s purpose, as we are.

“…among whom you are also called to belong to Yeshua the Messiah; to all who are in Rome, beloved of God, called to be holy ones: Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Yeshua the Messiah.” Romans 1:6-7.

“Therefore don’t let sin reign in your mortal body, that you should obey it in its lusts. Also, do not present your members to sin as instruments of unrighteousness, but present yourselves to God as alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God. For sin will not have dominion over you, for you are not under law, but under grace.” Romans 6:12-14.

God’s Purpose for us is to be conformed to the image of His Son.

“We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, for those who are called according to his purpose. For whom he foreknew, he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers. Whom he predestined, those he also called. Whom he called, those he also justified. Whom he justified, those he also glorified.” Romans 8:28-30 (Romans 8:1-30)

Thus, we be to the praise of God’s glory and are sealed with the Holy Spirit, who is the pledge of our inheritance.

“… to the end that we should be to the praise of his glory, we who had before hoped in Messiah. In him you also, having heard the word of the truth, the Good News of your salvation — in whom, having also believed, you were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit, who is a pledge of our inheritance, to the redemption of God’s own possession, to the praise of his glory.” Ephesians 1:12-14.

Context of Paul’s following prayer for the Thessalonians and us.

“To this end we also pray always for you that our God may count you worthy of your calling, and fulfill every desire of goodness and work of faith with power, that the name of our Lord Yeshua may be glorified in you, and you in him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Yeshua the Messiah.” 2 Thessalonians 1:11-12.
