Love Won the Day
I tell you My child, Love won the Day
The wages of sin, My Blood did pay
Tho’ the Cross seemed a place of certain defeat
I set My face like flint, I didn’t retreat
I paid the price Righteousness demanded
My life given for you, as the Father commanded
Unable to free yourself from the clutches of sin
I took your place, your liberty did win
Love won the Day, the enemy couldn’t understand
The hidden wisdom of God and His great love for man
Love’s power revealed in the mystery of the Cross
The enemies of God defeated in the ultimate loss
The power of Love has never diminished
With the passage of time, My work is still finished
The Love of the Father extended to all
Redeeming man, with My Blood, from the fall
The Father’s Love is perfect and pure
No shadow of turning, ever stalwart and sure
Against It no weapon of evil can prevail
Light triumphs o’er darkness, forever it fails
The Spirit poured this love in your heart
His grace given you, to do your part
To share this Love with the hurting and lost
Because Love won the Day at the ultimate cost
