Love is not safe. It sometimes places us on the receiving end of hurt and rejection. True love means choosing to trust someone with enough ammunition to shoot us down while relying on our Heavenly Father to protect us.

Jesus’ love did not lead Him to safety. It led Him to a tree. He suffered and died for the sake of love. It is through His true and perfect love that we are set free. So, while love isn’t always safe, we are called to live it out without counting the cost.
