“Listen to Me!” — Advice From The Holy Spirit
Watching the signs of the times, is a little scary.
You get many Prophecies to weigh and, sadly, many of them, including one or two of my own at times, many of them are simply a re-wording, maybe an expansion of someone else’s Word.
So I got to contemplating what The Bible says about weighing Prophecy.
It’s not exactly a workshop manual is it? Not many details on the ‘how’ — but much about the ‘what’ to do.
Paul speaks about two or three Prophesying, and their Words being ‘weighed’ by other Prophets — even by the congregation.
Now, I’ve always been taught to test Words to see if they ‘sit right’ in my spirit, or if I have a wee ‘warning flag’.
Hmmm… I’m not altogether sure if my discernment is better, or even as good as anyone else. In fact I trust most opinions about as much as I trust my own — which is precious little.
So, I decided that I had better do the commonsense thing and ask The Holy Spirit.
His response? Three words — “Listen to Me!
I will always talk to you, always tell you whether to accept or reject a ‘Word.’
So many hear from Me and put their own interpretations into the Word I give them. This is when you ‘see through a glass darkly’ and when I try to get you to correct what you are saying.
So listen to Me. AM I not trustworthy? Do I not speak truth?”
The Holy Spirit went on to remind me of what Balaam said to Balak,
“God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?” Numbers 23:19
In these present and particularly these coming days, we need to concentrate on our relationship with The LORD.
Only when we have that closeness of relationship with Him, will we begin to hear Him clearly.
When we hear Him clearly, we will be able to discern the good and the not so good prophetically.
The Church needs to hear the Prophetic loud and clear in the coming days, but if we do not discern these things correctly, how will The Church not follow the wrong path?
Satan has always brought his counterfeit to God’s People. Don’t let him get away with it — now especially.
Let the Prophets come closer to The LORD and hear Him clearl!
