Lets All Take a Inventory of our Prayer Lives
Good morning.
Lets examine where we are at today? We can take a quick inventory check list just to begin.
“I would therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting.” 1 Timothy 2:8
- When we wake up, is our heart wishing to give thanks for the new day to The LORD?
- Do we desire some quiet time before we start our day with The LORD?
Christians all need main quiet time(s) in His Presence sometime through the day. Some have more than one main time period set aside. - Do we silently or aloud try to pray and seek Godly answers for each situation we find ourselves in throughout our day?
Let’s not beat ourselves up if we find we fall short in any of these categories!
This is just meant to be a quick reflection to hopefully get us all to come closer to The LORD.
Some may have more than one prayer time set aside.
Still even if our main prayer time isn’t an early Watchman time, we need to start our day off right with The LORD.
Our hearts needs to acknowledge and seek after God, always!
The LORD will establish our prayer times if we are a serious prayer warrior and/or intercessor.
That is if we want and desire it. It is so important that we do !!
The time(s) can be a season of prayer, reflection, Bible and devotion, and meditation on God’s Word.
Let The LORD lead and guide each of us!
Our prayer lives will build as we go. So we should never expect too much of ourselves.
Just allow and give permission for The Holy Spirit to lead and guide us!
“Rejoice evermore. Pray without ceasing. In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.” 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
“And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint.” Luke 18:1
“And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of The LORD Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.” Colossians 3:17
“Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of The LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.” Psalm 1:1-2
“And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.” Romans 8:28-29
( Just a little ‘Rabbit Trail’ here for ‘Watchman hours’ for a 24 hour period. There are eight. )
Any one interested learning more can certainly check out some internet sites explaining what each time of prayer represents.
Here is just one link you may can get more info. It is just a random site I found that seemed pretty solid.
Below is a direct quote from that source: © Made of Still – Faith and Motivation
Night Watch
- First Watch – 6 pm-9 pm: Contemplation and laying foundations in prayer.
- Second Watch – 9 pm-12 am: Intercessory prayer, to pray for the protection of ourselves and those around us.
- Third Watch – 12 am-3 am: Spiritual warfare.
- Fourth Watch – 3 am-6 am: Prophetic prayer because you are commanding your morning with prophetic decrees and declaring God’s word.
Day Watch
- Fifth Watch – 6 am-9 am: Petitions.
Ask for strength and surrender.
Ask for Holy Spirit to help you before you start your day. - Sixth Watch – 9 am-12 pm: Thanksgiving prayer.
- Seventh Watch – 12 pm-3 pm: This is the seventh watch of rest.
7 Biblical represents that.
This is a time to seek God in the secret place. - Eighth Watch – 3 pm-6 pm: This is the eighth and final watch of the night and a time for prayer for revival and renewal.
Why? We rejoice because of the power of the cross.
Symbolically, Christ willingly became a sin offering and died at 3 pm.
We thank God that He conquered the power of the Grave!
God bless you all.
