Let the Dead Leaves Fall!
There is a plant I bought on the street a few months ago, a “Climber” or what some of us may know as a “Creeper” plant.
When I bought it, it was a little vine, a shrub, a tender plant. I took it home, watered it, spoke to it, and did the simple things I knew to care for it till it started to grow.
It was planted in a transparent half-cut soda bottle so I could see the roots stretching in the soil, spreading out. I was pleased.
After while I noticed that my plant wouldn’t grow any further. I watered it as usual, put egg shells and all to assist its growth and nurture, but for whatever reason, it was stuck.
So I decided maybe it’s time to re pot this plant and so I did.
Re-potting it would take some due care, as I tried to avoid damaging the roots and destroying this plant that I had grown so fond of. It only took me a few minutes then finally I was through.
I began to notice after some days, that the same plant that seemed to be stuck and hindered from growth, all of a sudden started to sprout tremendously.
There were a few leaves on the plant however, on which I noticed something odd. They were spotted and looked unhealthy.
I hesitated to cut them off, (being an inexperienced gardener) fearing that by doing so it may cause further damage, so I said “Let me try with them.” But as time went by, the same leaves became even more withered and dry till they eventually fell off….
Soon, all these leaves faded and fell. When this happened, the remaining leaves on the plant changed in color becoming greener, thicker, broader. Then new roots and leaves begun to grow.
Every day, there are fresh leaves and roots… I see even dew on this plant which is indoor. Days have passed and my “Climber” that came as little bud, has almost completely taken over a part of my wall at my home.
What am I saying people of God, as I observe this plant, the LORD ministered to me… “Your environment will determine your growth…..”
The Word of God says
“If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you…” John 15:7.
“I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing,” John 15:5.
I want us to know that this is a going to be a season of great CHANGE and TRANSFORMATION AND TRANSITION and MAJOR RESTRUCTURING as God takes us to the NEXT LEVEL!!
This is going to be a season where I believe that God is going to even SHIFT us from situations, people, and places that hinder, frustrate and cause stagnation to our spiritual growth, prune us.
For many of us, The LORD is enlarging our territories and borders even geographically, RE-POSITIONING the places we live. We will live there no more.
Things are going to be REALIGNING, for even as we look at our our sphere of influence, people in our ministries, the friends and relationships we had which served no purpose, the “dead leaves”, that came to subtract instead of adding value, will be cut off for our good.
For people who come to use and take advantage, God is saying “NOT SO!”
I believe that there will be new connections as we move forward.
The watering of the plant is the grace that God is pouring out on us, the mantling and the fresh anointing for new assignments.
God is making radical moves in this season and I believe that it starts with YOU!
So go ahead, don’t be afraid to let the dead leaves fall. Remain blessed. God is moving!
Shalom
