For the past few days, there has been an unusual smell that I have encountered.

It smells like a hospital when it has been sterilized, with a touch of formaldehyde (formaldehyde is used in the chemicals are a variety of preservatives, sanitizing and disinfectant to preserve the dead bodies of the deceased.)

The LORD spoke to me that there is a divine purification going on in this season that is the removal of contamination from something that is considered unclean or dead.

Such as in “water purification, fire purification….” The process of extracting something from a substance to bring about cleansing or to preserve life!

The LORD also said to Moses to go to the people and consecrate (dedicate) them today and tomorrow, and let them wash their garments; (purification) and be ready against the third day: for the third day the LORD will come down in the sight of all the people upon mount Sinai.

We need to understand as a people, the LORD will not show His Glory where there is contamination!

And thou shalt set bounds (boundaries and restrictions) unto the people round about, saying, Take heed to yourselves, that ye go not up into the mount, or touch the border of it: whosoever toucheth the mount shall be surely put to death: there shall not an hand touch it, but he shall surely be stoned, or shot through; whether it be beast or man, it shall not live: when the trumpet soundeth long, they shall come up to the mount.

And Moses went down from the mount unto the people, and sanctified the people; and they washed their clothes, (Exodus 19:10-14)

And, the LORD spoke unto Zechariah and said that I will bring the third part through the fire, and will refine them as silver is refined, and will try them as gold is tried: they shall call on my name, and I will hear them: I will say, It is my people: and they shall say, The LORD is my God, (Zechariah 13:9).

In this season, I believe that God is bringing about a purification and sanctification in the lives of his people! And, he is doing a NEW THING IN THE LIVES OF HIS PEOPLE!

And, Many are trying to yet hold on and to preserve the dead works and the stink in their lives in this season but God is saying LET GO of that which is dead!

God never came for us to preserve that which is dead in our lives in fact he said, “Follow me, and let the dead bury their own dead,” (Matthew 8:22).

Jesus wasn’t saying that people who were physically dead should bury other dead people; as you might think, but Instead He was speaking of those who were spiritually dead — those who were alive physically but dead toward God in their souls. We may be very strong and healthy physically, and yet be spiritually dead — which is far more serious.

What keeps you from following Jesus as you should?

Those are the things we must purify ourselves of and allow the fire of God to cleanse us from in this season; water baptism alone will not be enough to do it!

This is why John the Baptist said,

“I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire: Whose fan is in his hand, and he will throughly purge his floor, and gather his wheat into the garner; but he will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire,” (Matthews 3:11-12).

“For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin. For that which I do I allow not: for what I would, that do I not; but what I hate, that do I. If then I do that which I would not, I consent unto the law that it is good. Now then it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me. For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not,” Romans 7:14-18 KJV.

So people of the world are dead to Christ. They do not see His beauty, nor do they hear His voice or desire to follow Him. Only His “sheep” will do those things,” (John 10:27).

And, once we make the decision to follow Christ as an individual I believe and to preach His good news, we must deny dead, worldly pursuits and comforts, and do the LORD’s work.

Not from dead works of religion or living a unclean life but as Jesus wants His followers, not just professors of salvation, but those who are spiritually alive and awakened will be instruments in the LORD’s hands to call others to a NEW life in Christ.
