Leave The Foolish To The Foolish
A psalm to praise and sing to God, out loud.
Leave The Foolish To The Foolish
Where is the wise man?
Where is the scholar?
Where is the philosopher?
Leave the foolish to the foolish
Leave it all behind
Leave it all in the dust blowing in the wind
And turn to Him
Men argue
Men boast
Men debate
Men fashion their own morality
Men call opinions facts
Continuously, without end
And at the end, all are fools
Where is the wise man?
Where is the scholar?
Where is the philosopher?
Leave the foolish to the foolish
Leave it all behind
Leave it all in the dust blowing in the wind
And turn to Him
Has not GOD made foolish the wisdom of the world?
All its errant ways?
He sits on His Throne and laughs
Man goes astray because he knows not the Father,
Nor His Son—
Who was in the world,
And the world was made through Him,
Yet the world did not know Him.
He came to his own,
And His own people did not receive Him.
They laughed, scoffed and mocked
Rejecting His Wisdom leading to Eternal life
Where is the wise man?
Where is the scholar?
Where is the philosopher?
Leave the foolish to the foolish
Leave it all behind
Leave it all in the dust blowing in the wind
And turn to Him
At the end only The LORD’s Wisdom remains
You can’t serve Him with one foot in and one foot out
You can’t serve two masters at once
You can’t straddle the fence and claim innocence
For at the end
The wise man, the scholar and the philosopher
Will become dust blowing in the wind!
Where is the wise man?
Where is the scholar?
Where is the philosopher?
Leave the foolish to the foolish
Leave it all behind
Leave it all in the dust blowing in the wind
And turn to Him
For since in the Wisdom of God,
The world through its wisdom
Did not know Him,
God was pleased
Through the foolishness of what was preached
To save those who believe
So leave the foolish to the foolish
Leave it all behind
Leave it all in the dust blowing in the wind
And turn to Him
“Where is the wise person? Where is the teacher of the law? Where is the philosopher of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world? For since in the wisdom of God the world through its wisdom did not know him, God was pleased through the foolishness of what was preached to save those who believe.” 1 Corinthians 1:20-21.
