Laboring with Favor
One moment of favor is better than a thousand years of fruitless labor. if you labor with favor, your labor will be pleasant and fruitful. When Jesus was on earth, growing up as a Son of man, He needed also to grow in favor. “And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men” (Luke 2:52). His growth was three-dimensional; in wisdom, stature – size, and in favor with God and men. If Jesus needed this increase we need too, albeit much than He did. Favor is not a mystery for a child of God, it is our inheritance, and unfortunately many don’t know how to activate it.
The worldly system operates by hard-work alone, which is good but there is a more excellent way. It is the way of laboring with favor. Whereas hard work is a must in any endeavor, it is not enough. Think about Jesus; He was the Son of God, born in a miraculous way and with the most important mission ever, yet He still needed to increase in favor! His mission warranted a greater measure of favor that is why it had to increase in His life. Importantly, it was not just favor with God, but also with men. Many ‘spiritual’ people have a tendency to think that as long as their relationship with God is seemingly favorable, that is all that matters. However, this scripture shows us how we need both favor with God and with men. God is the blesser but He uses men, He is the promoter, but He brings it through men; man is God’s agency on earth for the extension of His influence. That is the main reason why Jesus became the Son of man, to reach men. Prophet Samuel of old, also experienced this growth just like Jesus; “And the child Samuel grew in stature, and in favor both with the LORD and men” (1 Samuel 2:26). Friend, you need to recognize your need to walk in favor both with God and men. ‘You Will Never Realize Your Dreams In Life By Hard Work Alone. It Will Take Many Masterstrokes Of Favor Being Extended Towards You At Major Milestones In Your Life” Mike Murdock.
As the size of your business, family, ministry and other aspects of life increase, you need also an equal or even greater increase in wisdom and favor. In our recently concluded Victory Celebration Conference, we have experienced great favor being extended to us in amazing ways. This has just strengthened my conviction that walking in God’s favor can bring you to your desired goal faster than laboring hard while leaning entirely on your strength. Favor brings flavor in your life that attracts the necessary people, material and opportunities for your progress. The good news is that every child of God is favored by Him. “To the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He made us accepted in the Beloved” (Ephesians 1:6). God has made us accepted in the Beloved Jesus Christ. The phrase ‘accepted in the Beloved’ comes from the Greek word; ‘Charitoo’; which means; ‘highly favored’. It is only used here and in Luke 1:28; “And having come in, the angel said to her, ‘Rejoice, highly favored one, the Lord is with you; blessed are you among women!'” In the same way Mary was favored; chosen among all women to conceive the Christ without asking for it, that is how we are favored as children of God. In all our stations of life; in our homes, workplaces, businesses, nations, cities and even on a plane, we have an advantage, the favor of God working for our good. Unfortunately, many believers are oblivious of this and also ignorant on how to activate it. Favor will greatly manifest in your life when you walk in its consciousness. When you become consistently aware that you are highly favored, it will impact your expectations in life and definitely produce the results that only favor can birth.
In your business you will begin to experience great sales, increase in clientele and favorable working conditions, regardless of the economy of the world. Since many of God’s children are ignorant of this, they rate themselves according to the world’s economy. They make judgments based on the media projections and worse still make negative remarks about themselves, their businesses and even marriages. Such remarks work against the favor they carry, and this begins a negative chain reaction despite the favor of God bestowed upon them. Acknowledge this favor, speak in consonance with it and you will experience its work in your life. “That the communication of thy faith may become effectual by the acknowledging of every good thing which is in you in Christ Jesus” (Philemon 6). This how it works, so, next time you have an interview, a business deal to close, or an opportunity coming your way, declare; ‘I am highly favored and accepted in the beloved’. Work hard and labor excellently, but remember a moment of favor is worth more than years of fruitless labor. I pray for you that you will experience uncommon favor, increased results and evident progress in everything that concerns you.
