Knowing Who You Are
2 Words in 1
Choose Wisely!
Here are some “power words” from Scripture!
The will of God for us is to “rejoice always, pray without ceasing, and live to give thanks in all circumstances,” (1 Thessalonians 5:16–18).
NO WHINING!
God’s will for us is to be connected with Him in prayer, and to be filled with joy and thanksgiving.
His will is NOT for us to complain about life, to grumble about what we don’t have, to whine about our circumstances, or to compare how others may have something we don’t.
Our dear Jesus wants us to face life with joy – His deep, inner joy that abides, that “settles in” no matter what! A Joy made strong in peace, even through disappointments and struggles. Jesus wants us to confront life not with pessimism and negativity, but with thanksgiving and gratitude!
Living lives of gratitude means even giving thanks to God when we face the unexpected, painful challenges and tragedies of life. It’s WHEN we face life’s challenges with gratitude, then we will learn new perspectives and grow to new heights.
We have to be stretched, shaken up a bit and be willing to be trained and even “re-trained” as believers if we want to move outward and upwards towards the plans and purposes that God has for the days ahead.
Get your focus “harnessed” and aimed to know the words God has spoken and proclaimed! It’s time to soar in thanksgiving, or you can sink into whining and discontent.
The choice is yours!
The consequences are too!
Choose Wisely!
Knowing Who You Are
Living the life of “the beloved” requires knowing who you are. KNOWING that you are God’s beloved.
Living the life of the beloved also requires risking loving others — walking through those doors of fear and doubt into intimacy.
Living the life of the beloved is responding to God’s call to create a world where we understand one another and treat each other as God’s beloved.
Look! Here’s what God says to you and I about this!
“When you go through deep waters, I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown. When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up; the flames will not consume you.” Isaiah 43:2.
The LORD Himself says, “In those times when you cannot feel My presence, I AM with you. In all of life, I AM there.
When you feel lost or unfulfilled in your job, when you don’t feel worthy of love, when your marriage falls apart, when you can’t pay the bills, when your children disappoint you, when your parents don’t understand, when your church lets you down, when your health fails you, when you have more questions than answers, when you are afraid and angry, lonely and uncertain I AM there with you — loving you, holding you, and protecting you.
For I AM your God, the Holy One, your Savior. I AM bigger and greater than all your worries and fears. I AM the sustainer of life and peace. I AM the One who wants for you joy and happiness. I AM all that you know about love and truth and I AM the mystery of love and truth. My love for you offers wholeness and fulfillment, meaning and authentic living.
Because you are precious in my eyes, and honored, and I love you. I see you for who you are, and in all of who you are I love you. I respect you. I value every part of your being — the good and the hurt. I adore you and I long to be a part of all of your life.”
