Kingdom Culture

“When Jesus was on earth, He came to lay the foundation of The Kingdom of God that was about to come upon the earth.
Soon after He would leave, The Holy Spirit would be poured into believers and The Kingdom would be established in them, as they would go into all the world to build His Ekklesia (His living Church consisting of all who are joined together as His body on earth and who are partakes of His Holy Spirit).
His ministry was both to talk and to prophecy about The Kingdom and how it will operate and be like.
His mission was also to demonstrate The Kingdom Culture as being the Christ, the first *Anointed One among many brothers who would be joined together with the Father through Him and who would be Anointed as He was on earth, being indwelt and filled with the very Person of the Father (by His indwelling Spirit).
*Anointed One – Spirit embodied man, fully indwelt by God Himself, rather than having a portion of the Anointing as it had previously been allocated in the old dispensation.
That is why Jesus always talked about The Kingdom. He was always busy explaining The Kingdom, what it will be like and how it will operate.
He would say, “The Kingdom of Heaven is like a mustard seed…”, The Kingdom of Heaven is like a man who went on a journey…”, The Kingdom of God is like man who owned a vineyard…”.
Through all of these parables, He was explaining what was about to be established in us! (Luke 17:21).
He also explained The Kingdom life and The Kingdom Culture that would be birthed within us as a direct result of The Holy Spirit coming to dwell in us and being in control of us.
He used many parables to explain this culture, and went into great detail in Luke 6 and Matthew 5 and 6, to highlight and explain some of the things we could expect to happen in us Supernaturally as fruit of the Spirit and as a direct result of His Presence and reforming work within our lives.
In addition, Jesus did not on only teach about The Kingdom, but He also lived and demonstrated The Kingdom’s culture while on earth Himself as being a part of humanity (and having left all Heavenly glory to take on flesh and to become a man as any other, among men).
“He stripped Himself of all privileges and rightful dignity, to become a servant, in becoming like men and was born as a mortal human being,” Philippians 2:7.
This was a very important part of His ministry on earth. He would live to show us how each one would live The Kingdom Life who would be filled with Kingdom Glory, and how Heaven’s culture would be demonstrated in them and through them, upon the earth.
He was pioneering the way as the first Son among many brethren that would follow after Him (Romans 8:29), demonstrating to us how the Anointing would manifest the very Character, Nature and Personality of God through us, if we would yield to Him (as all believers naturally ought to do).
He would influence our entire being with His Being.
Kingdom Culture was to be the very expression of the Father in us and through us, as it also was in and through Him. We were to be “other-like” than those in the world. Other-worldly, people of a different kind of species (2 Corinthians 5:17), created with a different Nature.
Humility, kindness, love, and compassion, are only some of the things which would manifest in Kingdom Culture, they would not only be a part of our new Nature, but would become a predominant part of who we are and all we do.
Jesus demonstrated this culture in so many ways. The most notable being when He bowed down to wash His disciples feet.
He demonstrated that The Kingdom would be intolerant to status, to high and low, to great and small. He highlighted the difference between the way of man’s doing — the way of religion, where religious scholars in His day, called the Pharisees and Sadducees, elevated themselves above others who they looked down upon as merely being “ordinary people” (Luke 11:43).
He demonstrated in contrast how He, being the life-leader of His followers, held Himself in no higher position than they were, but positioned Himself as an equal among them, and even as a servant to them.
He demonstrated this principle so we would learn that Kingdom Culture never honours men, but only honours God, and that as men we are all equal and equally loved by God.
He wanted us to learn and see that Kingdom Culture was never proud, haughty, nor divided, but equal in all things because of us being brought into The Kingdom not by anything we have achieved, or by our special talents, but by His grace alone.
We are who we are, because He makes us who we are, and because of His influence in our lives.
He wanted us to see that in Kingdom Culture we serve another, not because we have to, but because of who we are! And that in serving each other by allowing His Love, compassion, humility and care, to flow through us, there could be no greater expression of The Kingdom.
He demonstrated that those who served, were greater than those seeking to be served, and greatest above all, because through them The Kingdom was being expressed in purity!
Kingdom Culture is never haughty, it does not seek to be elevated or to be “counted above.” It seeks no honour for itself (John 5:44).
The Holy Spirit is a Spirit of meekness, of lowliness, of love, of kindness and compassion (Matthew 11:29).
Those filled with the Spirit of Christ and the culture of His Kingdom are not haughty either and seek not honour for themselves. They express the lowly Character and Nature of the One Who dwells within them.
Today we see a lot of religion being expressed around us and a lot of religious ways. We see men who seek for the highest acclaim, they study extensively to be able to be called “doctor” and “reverend”.
We see a system which reflects the same values of that of the Pharisees who lived in Jesus time. A system that honours men and lifts them above others, a system that divides rather than unifies. That looks up to the hierarchy and down upon as the “unlearned, ordinary people” .
We see “prophets, apostles and bishops” assuming positions and entitlement, and the ordinary called to serve them as kings.
We see people being employed (and having to see it as an honour) to follow these men to wipe the sweat of their brow while they preach.
Who carry their Bibles and wait on them as their servants, because in doing so, they are told that they are honouring the greatness of these “men of God” and in doing so are really in service of God.
Jesus washed His disciples feet and showed the stark contrast between man’s way and the way of The Holy Spirit.
He highlighted the difference between religion and Kingdom Culture.
He purposefully did so, so that they (and we today also) would be able to discern and clearly identify what is of God and Anointed, and what is born and instituted by the ways of man, so we all together (all who would belong to Him) would never be confused by men, or get lost along the way!”
