Kenya! Focus on Church Restoration!

Being Popular
“Demas because He has loved this world, has deserted me and has gone to Thessalonica,” (2 Timothy 4:10).
These were sentiments from a heart broken apostle Paul, deeply let down by one of his close associates and fellow worker in ministry who left him at his time of Kingdom need.
Demas as his name suggests in Greek, means “Popular”. He would later prove to be just that as he mingled widely and became one with the world system as he succumbed to pleasures of this world at the expense of the Gospel and righteous living.
But the Word of God is clear about the need for separation from the world. It warns those in the faith against being drawn into its ways.
To be in the world negates your Christ position.
“Do not love the world or anything in it, if anyone loves the world, love for the father is not in them,” John 2:15.
The tragedy of Demas is still being lived out today, where many in the faith tend to be persuaded easily to follow pleasures of sin.
Demas’ decision was not a physical separation, but a spiritual one, as he changed allegiance to another master whose kingdom is of this world.
You cannot serve two masters.
Kenya! Focus on Church Restoration!
As a people and as a section of church in Kenya, we may be taking too much time and energy “taking down the enemy,” which is perceived as this political party, or that political party, or political leaders of either party, or of certain tribes.
But we forget that at this time, much energy should be focused in the restoration of the Church and affirming her position in Christ Jesus as an agent of love and faith.
For many years, the way we have been handling spiritual issues in this land is both biblically inaccurate and ineffective.
It is the reason we have been in cycles and are now retrogressive, because you and I (the church) are part of the problems.
We are part of the problems since we allowed ourselves to be earthly minded, promoting material gain above eternal perspective of faith, bespeaking true Christianity.
And so we are using current political situation as means of achieving in earthly terms.
That is how to achieve something political as a tribe and the reason why we have run back to our tribes.
It is only the LORD who knows those who are genuine in their prayers.
Shalom,
