Just Give From Your Very Hearts Always!
Good morning.
It seems often times when I bring a subject up it brings debate in The Body of Christ.
That is never my intention but for you to get your Bibles out, and search it out as the Christians in Berea.
“These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.” Acts 17:11
To me it is just so simple! Give from your very hearts.
If God has your heart, as I have often heard spoken, He has your pocketbook!!
“Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.” 2 Corinthians 9:7
I am not out for debate again, but to give you some guidelines in God’s Holy Word. (Some more scriptures at the bottom.)
Hey, because many Churches and ministries have abused the tithe, don’t stop giving!
Don’t begrudgingly give anything!
Also don’t give to ministries and/or so called Churches that fleece the flock of God!
We all know there are counterfeits even in some Churches.
We have to know where we give is a solid place(s) using that money in an accountable way to God and man!
Give above a tenth. Make it about a love offering, also!
That is going above your ‘first fruits’ as was outlined in the Old Testament.
Well, I can’t help but quote John 3:16
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
Love always gives!
It’s that simple, yet that complex!
Not only give our money but ‘gifts’ and ‘talents’ to benefit the Church, also.
Love deeply and keep it uncomplicated always. Spread out that love wherever God shows you!
Go beyond the letter of the law is my motto.
Yes The LORD spoke out against the scribes and pharisee we see here,
“Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone.” Matthew 23:23
Still, don’t miss the point here. Jesus was correcting a ‘heart issue’ of them omitting judgment, mercy and faith.
He also spoke they were not to leave the other giving undone!
Where to give?
Pray about it. If you do belong to a local assembly then you know for sure one place!
If you are set up in a House Church, God will lead you where to distribute to the necessity of others.
Just give and give abundantly from your heart more than The Law requires.
Don’t give to get back, but give to bless! Just give wisely.
Remember always to take care of the poor if possible.
We can’t give sometimes, (I’ve been there). Still we can pray for them and give in other ways.
We just don’t need to shut up our bowels of compassion to others ever.
God bless you all.
“And He looked up and saw the rich putting their gifts into the treasury, and He saw also a certain poor widow putting in two mites. So He said, “Truly I say to you that this poor widow has put in more than all; for all these out of their abundance have put in offerings for God, but she out of her poverty put in all the livelihood that she had.”“ Luke 21:1-4
“I have shewed you all things, how that so labouring ye ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of The LORD Jesus, how he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive.” Acts 20:35
“Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith The LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.” Malachi 3:10
“But woe unto you, Pharisees! for ye tithe mint and rue and all manner of herbs, and pass over judgment and the love of God: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone.” Luke 11:42
“And verily they that are of the sons of Levi, who receive the office of the priesthood, have a commandment to take tithes of the people according to the law, that is, of their brethren, though they come out of the loins of Abraham.” Hebrews 7:5
“Take heed that you do not do your charitable deeds before men, to be seen by them. Otherwise you have no reward from your Father in heaven. Therefore, when you do a charitable deed, do not sound a trumpet before you as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory from men. Assuredly, I say to you, they have their reward. But when you do a charitable deed, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, that your charitable deed may be in secret; and your Father who sees in secret will Himself reward you openly.” Matthew 6:1-4
“Upon the first day of the week let every one of you lay by him in store, as God hath prospered him, that there be no gatherings when I come.” 1 Corinthians 16:2
“For this Melchisedec, king of Salem, priest of the most high God, who met Abraham returning from the slaughter of the kings, and blessed him” Hebrews 7:1-28 (Read More…)
“Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.” Luke 6:38
“Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill. For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled. Whoever therefore breaks one of the least of these commandments, and teaches men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever does and teaches them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. For I say to you, that unless your righteousness exceeds the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven.” Matthew 5:17-20
““Will a man rob God? Yet you have robbed Me! But you say, ‘In what way have we robbed You?’
In tithes and offerings. You are cursed with a curse, for you have robbed Me, even this whole nation. Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be food in My house, and try Me now in this,” says the Lord of hosts, “If I will not open for you the windows of heaven and pour out for you such blessing that there will not be room enough to receive it. And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, so that he will not destroy the fruit of your ground, nor shall the vine fail to bear fruit for you in the field,” says the Lord of hosts; “And all nations will call you blessed, for you will be a delightful land,” says the Lord of hosts.” Malachi 3:8-12
“Now all who believed were together, and had all things in common, and sold their possessions and goods, and divided them among all, as anyone had need. So continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they ate their food with gladness and simplicity of heart, praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily those who were being saved.” Acts 2:44-47
