A message inspired by a man from Turkey.

Recent memes on Facebook have depicted a normally clad competition shooter and the Turkish entry who wore jeans and tee shirt!

I know many will have commented on this, but I assure you I haven’t seen any of them – I’ve deliberately avoided Facebook most of the day.

I saw The LORD pointing to these two figures as ‘Modern Day Church’, and original ‘as it was Intended Church’!

The one, clad in all the ‘correct’ gear, all the modern legal assistants like the special glasses that help to focus on the target, and so on.

The other clad in very ordinary every day stuff, no aids, no assistance, just him — one hand in his pocket(!!!!!) — simply knowing what to do, how to do it, and quite honestly, like the great Nike advert, ‘just do(ing) it!’

What a contrast — Today’s Church — using all the psychological techniques — the clothing to look like they know what they’re doing — and the accoutrements to show they not only know their job but they’re also prepared up to the hilt, plus all the aids and clutter imaginable to make them look the part when they do the job of preaching!

On the other hand, the guy just gets on with the job without any add-ons or aids — just like the original apostles and saints — armed with nothing but The Gospel to preach — and doing it superbly too!

He’s the walking, talking epitome of the phrase ‘Keep it simple, silly’, or the KISS technique as it’s called in sales.

The LORD is calling us to drop all the dressing up and to ‘Just Do It’ — like the early Church did, and look at their success rate!

Like the man from Turkey, we don’t need all the expensive aids, we just need The Weapon — The Word of God — and The Ammunition — The Gospel!

Keep it simple people! Keep it simple!!

It worked then and it’ll work today!

People today are fed up with all the fluff and pretense, they want ‘real’.

They don’t want vague promises, they want HOPE, real hope!

Signs and wonders grab attention and seal the deal. The Gospel, kept honest, real, and simple, makes the ‘sale’!

Keep it simple people. Keep it simple.

It worked then and it’ll work today!

As someone said, the Lion of Judah doesn’t need help — open the cage and let Him loose — He’ll do everything necessary.

All you need to do is to be ready to disciple the catch!
