Jesus: Superior!
Jesus is SUPERIOR to Abraham, David, Moses, the prophets, and the TEMPLE!
He is before Abraham “Before Abraham I AM..’ not ‘I was”
He asked the people who they think the Messiah is and their answer was ‘The son of David’ In response He asked again “If he is the son of David, how come David called him lord in the Book of Psalms?”
Moses attested to His superiority when he said to the people, “The LORD shall raise up unto you from among your brethren a prophet like unto me, him shall you follow.”
He is SUPERIOR to any prophet, old or new testament and even any living one today!
What’s more? He is even SUPERIOR to the temple!
Superiority over all of these and more was one of reasons the Jews hated and killed Him..!
Jesus said in John 14:6 that “I am the WAY, the TRUTH and the LIFE. No one comes to the Father except through me!”
When He said He is the WAY, TRUTH AND THE LIFE, He was saying to the people that, “I AM THE TEMPLE OR TABERNACLE’
The physical temple was a shadow, but He is the REALITY! You see the TABERNACLE’ has three major places, the outer court which has a GATE called the WAY.
The Holy place which has an entrance called the TRUTH and the holy of holies which has a door covered with a curtain called the LIFE!
The outer court was the way, the Holy place was the truth and the Holy of holies the Life….
So when He said I am the WAY, TRUTH AND THE LIFE, HE WAS SIMPLY SAYING I AM THE TEMPLE!
The Jews knew the enormity of that statement and felt it was the highest height of blasphemy and for that and many other reason condemned Him to die…
He gave a superior covenant to the old called the NEW TESTAMENT which was enforced by Him laying down His life….
He is not just the TESTATOR of it but also the MEDIATOR of it!
He made sure He is both the TESTATOR and the MEDIATOR so that no one can circumvent His will.
IF YOU WANT TO KNOW MORE OF THE NEW TESTAMENT, it’s best you learn from the giver of it who also is the LAWYER of it!
It’s time we dig deep into the New Testament..
