Jesus on Comparison
There are always people around you performing some sort of activity.
Whether it is friends, family, coworkers, or neighbors, it can be easy to look at how well they are performing an activity or life in general.
For example, here are a few thoughts that can enter people’s minds:
- Are they a better parent than me?
- Are they better at their job than me?
- Are they smarter than me?
- Why are they more favored than me and things go so well for them all the time?
Note that comparing yourself with others is extremely dangerous — and when you compare yourself with others, fear enters into your life as you try to compete.
Therefore, we are not to enter into a competition with others. That is not our fight.
If you are feeling like you compare yourself with others, then allow these words from Jesus to correct you:
“No one is better than you. I have made you unique, therefore no one can be better than you.
They are unique and you are unique.
Stay in your lane as you commit to Me.
Do all can to stay focused on the goal.
Keep driving ahead for I will bless you.
Do not allow others around you distract you from the goal I have for you.”
Lastly, keep Psalm 139:14 in your heart.
I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made!
Marvelous are Your Works, and that my soul knows very well
