When we study the life of Jesus and see certain things than we should understand why the Holy Spirit does say certain things to us who are walking in His Spirit. The fact is that Jesus did walk and work in the power of the Holy Spirit and that Spirit did lead him to be very NON COMMITTAL to many men. The reason was HE KNEW THEIR HEART AND KNEW BETTER THAN COMMIT TO THEM. Jesus saw into their heart and then he was warned by the Holy Spirit about their true motives. Consider the verses in John 2 and know this truth.

JOHN 2:23-25 “Now when he was in Jerusalem at the passover, in the feast day, many believed in his name, when they saw the miracles which he did.
But Jesus did not commit himself to them, because he knew all men, And needed not that any should testify of man: for he knew what was in man.”

When we study what the Apostle Paul wrote concerning the Gifts of the Spirit, naming the 9 gifts of the Spirit, we read of one Gift that sounds like the above Gift that Jesus did walk in:

1 CORINTHIANS 12:10 “To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another DISCERNING OF SPIRITS; …….”

Just as Jesus was given the Spirit’s help to DISCERN SPIRITS and to know them, so goes this gift of the Spirit to discern the Spirit in men by other Spirit Led men. As one who walks in the Spirit I testify to you that this Gift of Discerning is working today.

Many times the Holy Spirit has warned. IT IS LIKE A RED LIGHT THAT COMES ON INSIDE THE SPIRIT AND THEN IT IS KNOWN THAT THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG. This is a very real thing for sure, and one that must be heeded when you receive such. IF JESUS DID NOT COMMIT HIMSELF TO CERTAIN MEN BECAUSE OF THIS WARNING… THEN YOU SHOULD NOT AS WELL.

One of the hard lessons I have learned has been evident as I served the Lord as Pastor. I have found myself being warned about certain people. They may appear in every way to be very genuine and they may even be very diligent in service. Yet inside I knew that they were not who they said they were or that there will be trouble down the way. With this lesson also comes the knowledge that NOT ALL THE OTHER CHRISTIANS IN THE GROUP MAY KNOW THIS. Then you are isolated in this knowledge…. knowing not to commit to a person when many think you should.

Through the years of ministry I have had this saying… I WONDER WHERE THIS PERSON WILL BE 6 MONTHS FROM NOW AND WILL HE/SHE BE A TRUE FRIEND OR BE FOUND AN ENEMY??? As I have felt this many times and entertained the question above. I have had this warning come up many times that a certain person who appeared to be VERY SINCERE AND HONEST turned out to be an ENEMY. It is at that time you (if you do not purposely discern and move with the discernment to non committal) learn this lesson the hard way… NEVER COMMIT TO ANYONE WITHOUT THE HOLY SPIRITS LEADERSHIP.

Many today are just placing others in places of leadership without thinking or praying seeking the Gift of Discernment. Be sure that the one in leadership will be sorry if they do not have this Gift. This is the very reason many troubles are existing today in today’s Church. There was NO DISCERNMENT.

The Scriptures say that we are to TRY THE SPIRITS to see if they are of God or not. Many False Teachers are creeping into the Church posing to be good men or women. Many are really deceivers and sent to cause divisions. We are to TRY THEM TO SEE. This is touchy business to say the least… when men try the Spirits. Just say for instance, someone comes along who everyone likes, but you sense a real spiritual problem. If you do not commit to them then you are made to feel like you are sitting yourself up as a judge over men.

The only real answer to this is plain. DO NOT FOLLOW MEN BUT FOLLOW THE HOLY SPIRIT. When and If you strictly follow the Holy Spirit gift of Discerning of Spirits you will NOT MAKE ANY MISTAKE but the blame will be upon God. God will be the one who makes the separation viable.

QUESTION FOR YOU TO CONSIDER:

Just how many pastors or five fold ministers are in office that should have never been placed there? One of the greatest problems today is that just about anyone who wants to can become a PASTOR can without any problem. There are as well many who are moving in all the ministry gifts that were never called by the Holy Spirit and set aside by Spiritual Men into Ministry. Well what do you say… IT SHOULD BE ONLY THE HOLY SPIRIT THAT SEPARATES MEN INTO MINISTRY. Men may think they know men, but the Holy Spirit does know ALL MEN AND SEES THEM FOR WHO THEY ARE. If we are not walking in the Power of the Holy Spirit and his gifts then it well may be all about men.

This problem does exist today with great influence in today’s “Church”. Many, Many, problems exist that can only fall under the category of RELIGION just because some man did not walk spiritual and did not see the true nature of men they placed in places of leadership. Because of this Man Made Religion (without Discernment in the Spirit) we are faced with the ugly fact that MANY MODERN CHURCHES ARE JUST RELIGIOUS AND NOT SPIRITUAL.

It then becomes a great difficulty to find THE TRUE ONE.
