JESUS Helped When Begged
JESUS Helped When Begged; Won’t You Beg Him To Help You Too?
“For whatever things were written before were written for our learning, that we through the patience and comfort of The Scriptures might have hope.” Romans 15:4.
Throughout His Ministry in the days of His Flesh, whenever THE LORD was begged by someone, He immediately did for the one what was being requested according to His Will.
They begged THE LORD. Yes they begged Him earnestly, and He helped them expressly.
Knowing that GOD will never fail to be merciful to man on earth, the benevolent centurion, Jairus and others understood and acted on this Truth of GOD and got what they needed JESUS to do for them.
“Now when He concluded all His Sayings in the hearing of the people, He entered Capernaum. And a certain centurion’s servant, who was dear to him, was sick and ready to die. So when he heard about JESUS, he sent elders of the Jews to Him, pleading with Him to come and heal his servant. And when they came to JESUS, they begged Him earnestly, saying that the one for whom He should do this was deserving, “for he loves our nation, and has built us a synagogue.” Then JESUS went with them. And when He was already not far from the house, the centurion sent friends to Him, saying to Him, “LORD, do not trouble Yourself, for I am not worthy that You should enter under my roof. Therefore I did not even think myself worthy to come to You. But say THE WORD, and my servant will be healed. For I also am a man placed under authority, having soldiers under me. And I say to one, ‘Go,’ and he goes; and to another, ‘Come,’ and he comes; and to my servant, ‘Do this,’ and he does it.” When JESUS heard these things, He marveled at him, and turned around and said to the crowd that followed Him, “I say to you, I have not found such great faith, not even in Israel!” And those who were sent, returning to the house, found the servant well who had been sick.” Luke 7:1-10 emphasis added.
“So it was, when JESUS returned, that the multitude welcomed Him, for they were all waiting for Him. And behold, there came a man named Jairus, and he was a ruler of the synagogue. And he fell down at JESUS’ Feet and begged Him to come to his house, for he had an only daughter about twelve years of age, and she was dying. But as He went, the multitudes thronged Him. Now a woman, having a flow of blood for twelve years, who had spent all her livelihood on physicians and could not be healed by any, came from behind and touched the border of His garment. And immediately her flow of blood stopped. And JESUS said, “Who touched Me?” When all denied it, Peter and those with him said, “Master, the multitudes throng and press You, and You say, ‘Who touched Me?’ ” But JESUS said, “Somebody touched Me, for I perceived power going out from Me.” Now when the woman saw that she was not hidden, she came trembling; and falling down before Him, she declared to Him in the presence of all the people the reason she had touched Him and how she was healed immediately. And He said to her, “Daughter, be of good cheer; your faith has made you well. Go in peace.” While He was still speaking, someone came from the ruler of the synagogue’s house, saying to him, “Your daughter is dead. Do not trouble the Teacher.” But when JESUS heard it, He answered him, saying, “Do not be afraid; only believe, and she will be made well.” When He came into the house, He permitted no one to go in except Peter, James, and John, and the father and mother of the girl. Now all wept and mourned for her; but He said, “Do not weep; she is not dead, but sleeping.” And they ridiculed Him, knowing that she was dead. But He put them all outside, took her by the hand and called, saying, “Little girl, arise.” Then her spirit returned, and she arose immediately. And He commanded that she be given something to eat. And her parents were astonished, but He charged them to tell no one what had happened.” Luke 8:40-56 emphasis added.
“Again, departing from the region of Tyre and Sidon, He came through the midst of the region of Decapolis to the Sea of Galilee. Then they brought to Him one who was deaf and had an impediment in his speech, and they begged Him to put His Hand on him. And He took him aside from the multitude, and put His Fingers in his ears, and He spat and touched his tongue. Then, looking up to Heaven, He sighed, and said to him, “Ephphatha,” that is, “Be opened.” Immediately his ears were opened, and the impediment of his tongue was loosed, and he spoke plainly.” Mark 7:31 – 35.
“Then He came to Bethsaida; and they brought a blind man to Him, and begged Him to touch him. So He took the blind man by the hand and led him out of the town. And when He had spit on his eyes and put His hands on him, He asked him if he saw anything. And he looked up and said, “I see men like trees, walking.” Then He put His hands on his eyes again and made him look up. And he was restored and saw everyone clearly.” Mark 8:22-25 emphasis added.
So, whenever THE LORD was begged, He was obliged. Therefore, beg Him to do for you what you need. And He will — according to His Will.
But, what is exceedingly astonishing about JESUS being obliged when He is begged, is that, even demons got their request granted by Him when they begged Him!
“Then they came to the other side of the sea, to the country of the Gadarenes. And when He had come out of the boat, immediately there met Him out of the tombs a man with an unclean spirit, who had his dwelling among the tombs; and no one could bind him, not even with chains, because he had often been bound with shackles and chains. And the chains had been pulled apart by him, and the shackles broken in pieces; neither could anyone tame him. And always, night and day, he was in the mountains and in the tombs, crying out and cutting himself with stones. When he saw JESUS from afar, he ran and worshiped Him. And he cried out with a loud voice and said, “What have I to do with You, Jesus, Son Of The Most High God? I implore You by GOD that You do not torment me.” For He said to him, “Come out of the man, unclean spirit!” Then He asked him, “What is your name?” And he answered, saying, “My name is Legion; for we are many.” Also he begged Him earnestly that He would not send them out of the country. Now a large herd of swine was feeding there near the mountains. So all the demons begged Him, saying, “Send us to the swine, that we may enter them.” And at once JESUS gave them permission. Then the unclean spirits went out and entered the swine (there were about two thousand); and the herd ran violently down the steep place into the sea, and drowned in the sea.” Mark 5:1-13.
This, well, begs the question: If THE LORD JESUS could grant the request of demons who begged Him, how much more would He not grant the requests of His Own Special People bought by His PRECIOUS Blood, if they beg Him earnestly according to His Will?
You see, demons know fully well that every Word in The Bible is all true and all powerful.
While some children of GOD foolishly doubt various aspects of THE WORD OF GOD, demons believe and know that every aspect of THE WORD OF GOD is true and works perfectly when acted upon.
However, begging JESUS for anything must be according to His Will.
The man who had just been set free begged THE LORD to join His Ministry Team. But He did not permit him, for He had a different assignment for him to do.
“So those who fed the swine fled, and they told it in the city and in the country. And they went out to see what it was that had happened. Then they came to JESUS, and saw the one who had been demon-possessed and had the legion, sitting and clothed and in his right mind. And they were afraid. And those who saw it told them how it happened to him who had been demon-possessed, and about the swine. Then they began to plead with Him to depart from their region. And when He got into the boat, he who had been demon-possessed begged Him that he might be with Him. However, JESUS did not permit him, but said to him, “Go home to your friends, and tell them what great things THE LORD has done for you, and how He has had compassion on you.” And he departed and began to proclaim in Decapolis all that JESUS had done for him; and all marveled.” Mark 5:14-20 emphasis added.
With all speed, the man had much greater success preaching where GOD assigned Him than he could have had where he had begged GOD to assign him.
“Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit…for it is GOD Who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure.” Philippians 2:3,13.
“For we are His workmanship, created in CHRIST JESUS for good works, which GOD prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.” Ephesians 2:10.
What is the conclusion then?
Begging JESUS according to His Will, will bring Him to your rescue.
Why won’t you beg Him?
“The LORD Jesus Christ be with your spirit. Grace be with you. Amen.” 2 Timothy 4:22.
“Farewell” Acts 15:29.
~ Jacob Awagah
Jacob, an apostle of Jesus Christ by The Will of God, according to The Promise of Life which is in Christ Jesus, (2 Timothy 1:1).
As John was, Jacob is the disciple whom JESUS loves, (John 13:23;19:26; 20:2; 21:7,20). And like Paul, Jacob is “the prisoner of CHRIST JESUS” (Ephesians 3:1) for His Purpose forever: to obey Him always.
“And having been perfected, He became The Author of Eternal Salvation to all who obey Him,” Hebrews 5:9.
