Jesus Didn’t Come to Give You a Comfy Gig!
I just have to speak this because it has been bothering me when I see certain [Facebook] posts lately talking’ about …… “We must only surround ourselves with people who will help us or add to our destiny etc…”
Well now, it depends on what you mean by add to our destiny or increase us.
Yes, Jesus had His inner circle whom He trusted and leaned on and who surrounded Him and so should we. It is the place where we can run to and feel safe and it is a good thing.
Then on the other hand, that saying is a bit unscriptural, because Jesus came to be a servant to the people and not everyone whom He hung with was really adding to Him.
So no, He did not surround Himself with just people who added to Him. Many turned on Him but he continued to serve them until the end. Think of Judas….
So it isn’t always about who can add to me, but it should be who can I add too. It isn’t suppose to be about me!
Yes, let your closest friends and inner circle be a support, but we are sent to people many times who do not have our interest at heart! So, let’s stop taking sayings like they are the gospel and truly read what we are to be all about…
We are to deny ourselves daily, take up our cross and follow Him and the cross my friends is not always a comfy gig!
“Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself. Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others.
Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross.” Philippians 2:3-8.
Hypocrisy
God is about to pull the veil off of the hypocrisy!!
“In those days the ungodly, the atheists, will not be heroes! Wealthy cheaters will not be spoken of as generous, outstanding men! Everyone will recognize an evil man when he sees him, and hypocrites will fool no one at all. Their lies about God and their cheating of the hungry will be plain for all to see. The smooth tricks of evil men will be exposed, as will all the lies they use to oppress the poor in the courts. But good men will be generous to others and will be blessed of God for all they do,” Isaiah 32:5-8.
I hear the LORD saying…
“Oh really….. where are your accusers now?
No more excuses! Go and do what I have set you free to do and to whom I have come to set free of the same thing!”
It’s your time to arise from these ashes and face those that would have stopped you from being all that I have called you to be!
Arise Daughters and press past the shame of your past, because your accusers have nothing more to say!
