It is interesting that the Scriptures teach that Jesus did not readily commit himself to all who said they were Believers in Him.

The reason why, He knew is by The Holy Spirit which was in him, and The Spirit did warn him of coming trouble, or difficulty, because Jesus had been shown that these men were truly not who they said they were.

“Now when he was in Jerusalem at the Passover, in the feast day, many believed in his name, when they saw the miracles which he did.
But Jesus did not commit himself unto them, because he knew all men, and needed not that any should testify of man: for he knew what was in man,” John 2:23-25 emphasis added.

It is difficult and even hard to hear things in The Spirit about people. We all want to think the best of everyone, but if you are flowing in The Spirit, you could hear things you did not wish to hear.

I went to this Church to worship and listen to a message. When the Pastor stood up to preach, a red light in my head lit up. I thought to myself, “What is wrong? Why the Red light? Why the Warning?”

I asked The LORD then, “What is wrong LORD?” I heard him speak back in answer: “He is not who he says he is!”

“wow… really LORD, well then who is He?”

You must know that the Preacher said nothing wrong, and it all sounded right, but there was really a dead spirit on him, it just did not come across right at all.

I heard The LORD then begin to tell me what all the preacher was doing in the dark. I saw the things, and it was frightening.

Another time I went to a local Church, and when the Pastor got up to preach again, WARNING… as if there was a Red Light on his forehead shaped like a ‘T‘. [T for trouble!]. wow….

I said to The LORD, “What is wrong?” I heard The LORD say, “He is not mine!”

“What, not yours?” “Yes,” came the answer, “He is not even saved!”

Another time when preaching in the Tent here in Belen in a street meeting, there was a woman who was there in every service. In every way she seemed like a very fine Christian Lady

She had even asked some questions, and was viewed by others as being a strong Christian.

As I preached, I saw that Red ‘T‘ on her forehead. Later after the service that night, I told my wife, “Something is wrong with that woman!”

I was not sure this time, all I knew was I saw Red Warning. Several days later that woman called me on the phone (between services) and said: “Do you think so-and-so is a preacher?”

I said, “Well, he told me he was a Preacher! Well she said, “If he preachers I will never come back!”

I was shocked. I had just heard in my spirit that this woman had a very critical spirit.

Another time, I got a phone call from a woman whom I had seen once in another meeting. As she talked on the phone, explaining why she called me, I was hit again in The Spirit with the Knowing that this woman had in her a very Ugly Spirit.

Little did I know at the time that she had called to try to catch me in a fault. It was like when the Pharisees came over to try to trip up Jesus, by asking hard questions.

I said to The LORD, “What am I to do?” The answer came back, “Talk to her about salvation, because she is not saved — all messed up in beliefs.”

Wow… I didn’t know that. All I knew was she had an ugly spirit on her, and I almost would have preferred to not even talk to her.

There is a KNOWING in the Spirit. That knowing is the Holy Spirit, and the gift is called DISCERNING OF THE SPIRITS.

See:

“But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal.
For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit; to another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit; to another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues: but all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will,” 1 Corinthians 12:7-11.

It was a shocker to me. One day when I was Pastor of a certain Church, and I was praying asking God about people who were no longer coming, but had dropped out.

I said, “LORD, what about this person?” The answer came back: “Do not try to get them to come back, but let them go!”

“Why LORD?” I said. He said: “Because I know them as to who they are!” There have been other times He told me: “Do not invite that person, I know him!”

While preaching one day, I looked over the crowd, and I felt such coldness — but it was hot summertime. I asked The LORD, “What is wrong?”

He answered, “Get the anointing bottle and anoint everything — and even the people.”

So, I stopped preaching and got the anointing bottle, and begin putting anointing on the doors, windows, walls, and chairs.

As I walked around I heard, “Put it on the people!” So, I begin to put it on people as I went down each row.

When I came to this one man he drew back and said; “Stay away from me with that oil!”

“No,” I said, “I must anoint you.”

“No!” he said in agitation as I took the oil and literally stuck out my hand and touched him suddenly.

The spirit lifted immediately in the room, and I begin to preach in power. I did preach over an hour with great freedom and anointing.

I know then that The LORD had uncovered a devil, and that he was blocking the service.

We who are filled with the Holy Spirit can move in the Gift of Discerning of Spirits. Many already do, but if you have wondered about the way you have been impressed when you meet someone, etc, it could be you are flowing in The Holy Spirit Gift of Discerning of the Spirits.
