It’s Not Just Doom & Gloom
It’s Not Just Doom & Gloom,
or All Bright Days Ahead Either!
“For it is time for judgment to begin with the household of God; and if it begins with us first, what will be the outcome for those who do not obey the gospel of God?” 1 Peter 4:17.
I noticed lately that there is an attitude among some that “Doom & Gloom” messages are not what God is saying.
I think that there needs to be a better understanding of what some may think.
First of all, from what The Holy Spirit has said to me concerns “Preparation,” rather than an unsettling thought of “Doom” or “Gloom.”
Yes, there are some who seem to write messages that are so dark and dreary and unsettling. Those may well NOT be given under the inspiration of The Holy Spirit, but rather from some other spirit.
But on the other hand, we wouldn’t want to quickly put on our rose-colored glasses. We need a “balance” within the prophetic community.
I realize that some have different avenues of expression and callings, but within the influx of messages, I believe, that the pendulum needs to swing in a routine that offers both encouragement and hope, while at the same time offering the reality of difficult days ahead as seen in the light of “preparation, truth, and scripture.”
However, that is not to say that the darkness and devastation is not coming — it is.
One must though, keep the mindset that those words that speak of this are said for our preparation and not to create fear in us.
There are those in the Christian community that seem to think that the judgment that has been prophesied, will not come if some still pray that our land would be healed.
These are those who quote:
“If My people, which are called by My name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.” 2 Chronicles 7:14.
And to be true, the various messages that “only” speak of pleasant things, and those that seem to drop of honey, are needed for our encouragement, and for our hope.
We need them, and yet we need not hear “only” these things.
For it is unwise and foolish to think that all will always be well. Truly, we will be protected and given mercy, if we would make preparation and to have a heart turned towards God.
But you see, the future that is prophesied and found in the scriptures, speaks of that which is to come, and many see those signs unfolding even now.
Those things that are spoken, do not speak of a great golden age coming to either our land or any other, on the face of the earth.
On the contrary, it is quite the opposite, and yet after that great battle, we are then ushered into the Marriage Supper of the Lamb.
So, those messages that may appear to be filled with doom or gloom, should not leave out the preparation and even perhaps some of those dreadful things that are to come, but they should also leave the reader with a sense of hope seen in the midst of the darkness that is coming.
When indeed these things come and they will, let us rather have a heart and mind of the urgency but also the need for preparation and wisdom.
If indeed the military has become crippled; if the economy is failing, will what’s left of a diminished government come to our aid?
You see, many hang onto the notion that our nation is so great that it will never be crippled and fall.
Some glory in their patriotism and the flag and forget that the Almighty rules above all else.
These are those who perhaps are so blind that they think that our continuing divisions are to be ignored, and somehow our land will become great again, in spite of all of this.
