It’s not an Easy Road!
Today many people look at the task that God has called them to do, and have said, “I can’t do it…. It is too hard.”
Well, The Lord Jesus never said to any of us that the road He was calling us to walk would be easy. Matter of fact, he told us to be aware of the difficulties coming our way.
As one who hears The Lord speaking, I have been in his presence. While there, I heard Him crying. It startled me at first. “Why are you crying, Lord?” He said, “Oh, My people, My people…. They are everywhere and they are hurting. They are like sheep in pens and they cannot get out. They are abused and led astray. Many are crying out, just listen you will hear them.”
He continued…. “Oh, will you go and tell them to seek Me?”
I said to him, “Call them out here… To this place?” He said to me: “You came out here, why not? I want them to seek Me,” he said.
Friends, it has never been easy for me as a minister of the gospel. For years I have suffered in many ways to be a pastor. Never had much of anything.
It was never laid out for me in a straight road before me… I have never had everything I needed to do the job… Yet I heard Him say… “Please go and tell them, ‘______ ‘ for me…. Go!”
At one time, many years ago when a young preacher, I heard Him say go to the mission field in Idaho. I had a large family [a wife and 4 children] and I had to uproot them and walk entirely by faith.
I spent two years just trying to get enough support to go [funds and means to even go]. I had to leave Texas and move to Idaho. I didn’t have the money, and spent much time going to churches looking for supporters. But the day came I went.
It was never easy to be there. Frankly I almost starved. My children suffered. My wife and I had a very hard time… But we never did go without food. It looked like we would but never did. We did not die, and it seemed to be a way, when we did not see a way. But he called us.
Please know, I do not speak about myself to cause you to think about me… I am talking to someone. You are thinking everything will be laid out for you… And everything provided for you ….. “before you go out”. You are thinking wrong…
Even jesus had to leave his heavenly golden city to come to earth… He was born in a stable and lived without any home, from place to place. He suffered for us, and died a most cruel death… But He came. It was not easy for him. But He came.
Listen to this song: no. Nobody ever said it would be easy!
