Is Your Eternal Destiny Secure?
There are many religions in the world, but they all have common ground.
Each requires that a person betters themselves. According to these beliefs salvation is the result of our own actions and behaviors.
Follow the doctrines of that system and receive eternal bliss. Fail to do so and receive eternal punishment.
The religious spend a lifetime working on self betterment in the hopes that their efforts are good enough.
There is but one “religion” which differs.
Followers of Christ base all their hopes on believing.
- They believe they are sinners and in need of salvation.
- They believe no action taken in self effort can earn them salvation.
Most importantly they believe Jesus is the way, the truth and the life and that no one comes into relationship with God or enters the Kingdom of Heaven but through Him.
Rather than rising up to do better or be better, they fall to their knees in surrender trusting that God alone can build them up into the men and women they are meant to be.
Is your eternal destiny secure?
If you believe so, what is the basis of that belief?
Do you point to yourself and what you have or have not done, or have you placed the full weight of your trust in Christ Jesus?
