Is the Sabbath Rest for Christians Today?
God honors those who honor Him.
A great way to honor God is by practicing the Sabbath rest.
God speaks about this in Isaiah 56:2, as He says:
“Blessed is the one who does this — the person who holds it fast, who keeps the Sabbath without desecrating it, and keeps their hands from doing any evil.”
Notice two things from this verse.
1) God appreciates those who honor the Sabbath
2) God rewards those who honor the Sabbath
This is something God is excited about!
Do you have to honor the Sabbath? No.
Are you going to hell if you don’t honor the Sabbath? I don’t think so.
Can you honor the Sabbath on Sunday instead of Saturday? I think so.
The main purpose of the Sabbath is to draw near to God.
Many get caught up in the details and the “do’s” and “don’ts” but this is not God’s Will.
He created the Sabbath so you can spend a day with Him as you draw deeper into His presence.
Jesus is looking for ways to bless you. He wants to bless you. He wants you to be so blessed that you say, “Wow, God is SO good to me — I can’t believe it.”
Sometimes we get blessed because we are simply a son or daughter. Sometimes we get blessed because we ask and receive. And sometimes we get blessed because we obey the Lord’s Commands — such as the Sabbath.
The Holy Spirit says:
“My People, listen to these Words for they are important. I Love you with all of My Heart. I Love when you grow deeper in your relationship with Me.
I know you are busy and there are a lot of things going on, but I see you working hard to be with Me and I love that. I reward you for your time.
Your Sabbath rests will go well for you. You will feel My presence in greater ways and your peace will increase.
I want to see you in My arms for I Love you greatly. Now come to Me and practice what you hear for I Love to be with You.”

Thank you Travis. The Ruach had revealed this to me at the end of 2001 so we started honoring the Sabbath rest in the beginning of 2002. I have learned many new things and have enjoyed the fellowship of the Ruach through His word. Glory to our God.
Amen and Thank You and The Lord has been telling me to be still, a lot, because The enemy would have us anxious and God is interrupting this and telling me to Be still. He has me!
What an awesome Father we have! Very encouraging post!
