Is it really God or You?
God is not the author of confusion and the five fold ministry are not gifts to be used to “throw off” or to get a point across to others. It’s not to tell others a piece of our mind, but most of the time we will say that “God is speaking” or that God is saying, but in all actuality it is either the flesh or Satan mixed in with God’s truth which makes it a straight lie!
It is not a true message from God when we want to use God’s name and authority to “speak our own feelings or thoughts ” or to “throw off on others.” If you have a case against some one, then the word of God says to go to that person and to him alone. Doing it publicly is a waste of spiritual time, because it is really non-effective to the rest of the body of Christ.
Matthew 18:15 says the word of God should be used to correct at the right time and place and the Holy Spirit causes us to use intelligence and wisdom through His leading and guidance only and not the leading of the flesh. If most of what is believed to be what God is saying has a tone of confusion, division, or words that causes discord or quarreling, then God is not the author of the word. God’s word not only corrects, but it will build up, convict, and exalt others by the leading of the Holy Spirit.
Let’s remember, God doesn’t have “deputies” but servants, who are willing to listen, obey, and serve him. None of us can boast in and of ourselves, for we are only subject to God and we are responsible for the words that we release while using His name to back the accuracy and reliability of the word. This is why we must use discernment and test the Spirit from which the person is speaking, because spiritual discernment will surely let you know when God is speaking, or when it is indeed the flesh speaking.
What isn’t appealing to the world is the fact that the ministers of God are quarreling over positions, gifts, and favortism from God and it is not proper order in the body of Christ. All gifts come from God and if everyone operates in the proper place, where God has placed them, then we will all be useful and effective for Christ. But if we exhort one gift over the other or see our gift as better than the next member of Christ’s body, the we allow room for dissension and quarrels which should not be found among the true saints of God!
Finally, if we are continuously speaking without prayer, discernment, and meditation, then when do we have time to hear God speak or get into His presence? The word of God is critical to the souls of all of mankind and before we speak a word to make a point, let’s remember that a soul is at stake so make sure that it’s God speaking and not you!
“Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from god, because many false prophets have gone out into the world” 1 John 4:1.
“I appeal to you, brothers and sisters, in the name of our lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree with one another in what you say and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfectly united in mind and thought. For it has been reported to me by Chloe’s people that there is quarreling among you, my brothers…” 1 Corinthians 1:10-11.
“For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints” 1 Corinthians 14:33.
“I therefore, a prisoner for the lord, urge you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which you have been called” Ephesians 4:1.
“And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; for the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ” Ephesians 4:11-12.
