“His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord,” Matthew 25:21 (KJV).

I love this verse! You and I all want to hear the LORD say these words, ‘Well done my good and faithful servant…’, this is praise indeed!…. but lets take a closer look at the verse.

Tell me, when does this praise come for any work done? For these servants, it was after the man went on his journey. Before he left, he entrusted his servants with a task that was to be completed by his return.

When Jesus left this earth and returned to the Father, He had already given commands that were to be fulfilled by his people by His return. You will receive this praise from Him when He comes for you, AND, after your work has been inspected.

These servants of the man who went into a far country, were given money and were expected to make money with it. How do you reproduce what the Lord has given you……..YOU MUST MAKE AN INVESTMENT…… your money, your time, your gifts, your will, your energy, your love, your tears, your faith…. .everything you have received He expects it to be put into the work of the Kingdom.

Ultimately, only two out of three servants completed the task, and were praised and called faithful. Their master could actually trust them with these small tasks, and as a result they were made rulers of many things. They were promoted in their work, AND they entered into His joy! Rewards all around…..

Let’s NOT be like the unfaithful servant who withstood the Lord, complaining and fear driven. Jesus calls him wicked and slothful. This servant knew what he was to do and instead let bitterness set in his heart.

The result, what he was given was taken away from him and given to another who would do something with it. Don’t forget about the wise and foolish virgins and what happened to them… when Jesus came, the wise entered in and the foolish were left behind.

Make an investment today…. today is the only day that is guaranteed…. TOUCH SOMEONES LIFE FOR JESUS! OH, WHAT JOY!
