In Remembrance
“I thank God, whom I serve from my forefathers with pure conscience, that without ceasing I have remembrance of thee in my prayers night and day; Greatly desiring to see thee, being mindful of thy tears, that I may be filled with joy; When I call to remembrance the unfeigned faith that is in thee, which dwelt first in thy grandmother Lois, and thy mother Eunice; and I am persuaded that in thee also,” 2 Timothy 1:3-5 (KJV).
FAITH UNFEIGNED
What is faith unfeigned? This is the faith we as believers must have. It is a faith that is REAL, GENUINE, AND SINCERE. Timothy displayed this faith in the Lord in his service of prayer. It was a faith that stood the test of time, so valuable that was shared and passed down through generations, and done with a pure conscience.
MY FRIEND, HOW IS YOUR PRAYER LIFE?
It is a faith that remembers to pray for our brothers an sisters in Christ continually, for the temptations and trials we experience are shared by each of us, for we are not so different, and we have need of strength and courage to move forward and stay in the race. These are prayers that are sown with tears of earnestness and truth.
BELOVED, I NEED YOUR PRAYERS, AND I KNOW YOU NEED MINE. But just knowing it isn’t enough, we must follow through so we have that pure conscience. Let us be found faithful to support one another in love through prayer.
It is a faith that longs for fellowship with other believers of like minds. It is a GREAT DESIRE TO BE IN EACH OTHERS COMPANY, that we may impart what is needed to other……. so that we may share be filled with joy.
Our love for one another should also be unfeigned. 1 Peter 1:22 says, “Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently.”
Surely this genuine and sincere love is very hard to find today, but especially during the days of persecution of the early church, and much suffering, this love for one another enabled them to continue and even to triumph because of God’s very presence.
Jesus prays for us that our faith would not fail, let us join Him with a like mind for each other, FOR THE PRAYERS OF A RIGHTEOUS MAN AVAILETH MUCH. This faith practiced in prayer will move mountains.
God Bless You, you are in my prayers
