In Many Ways We Are Like David & Jeremiah in This Battle
God says, in many ways we, as believers, are like David in fighting a battle over good and evil.
Although Saul was King, David had been anointed as the new King by Samuel. (1 Samuel 16:1-13) Saul had lost his anointing over disobedience to The LORD (1 Samuel 15:1-35 (13-15) and in so doing lost his kingship.
From that point on, Saul seemed to go from bad to worse, finally falling on his sword, during a battle. (1 Samuel 31:4). An Amelekite took Saul’s armband and his crown to David, telling him that he had killed Saul and in so doing sealed his own death from one of David’s men, at David’s orders (2 Samuel 1:10).
“There are many believers in the fray now, at a cross-section of what to do next.
Many are battle weary, frustrated at the injustice, and angry that things aren’t moving fast enough for them.
There are others who have literally given up fighting or become complacent accepting what lies before them, without seeking ME about what to do next.
I say to you, if you don’t know what to pray, pray scripture, for MY WORD will overcome the enemy at every point.
David and Jeremiah both were upset, frustrated, felt injustice, and were weary of the battle that seemed to rage on and on. Their words fit many of the obstacles that you now face as believers. Pray MY WORD. DON’T GIVE UP!”
Scriptures to Pray:
“14 The LORD says, “I will rescue those who love Me. I will protect those who trust in My Name. 15 When they call on Me, I will answer; I will be with them in trouble. I will rescue them and honor them. 16 I will satisfy them with a long life and give them My Salvation.” Psalm 91:14-16.
“Hear my Voice, O God, in my complaint; guard and preserve my life from the terror of the enemy. Hide me [us] from the secret counsel and conspiracy of the ungodly, from the scheming of evildoers, who whet their tongues like a sword, who aim venomous words like arrows, who shoot from ambush at the blameless man [or woman]; suddenly do they shoot at him [or her], without self-reproach or fear. They encourage themselves in an evil purpose, they talk of laying snares secretly; they say, Who will discover us? They think out acts of injustice and say, We have accomplished a well-devised thing! For the inward thought of each one [is unsearchable] and his [her] heart is deep.
But God will shoot an unexpected arrow at them; and suddenly shall they be wounded. And they will be made to stumble, their own tongues turning against them; all who gaze upon them will shake their heads and flee away.
And all men [and women] shall [reverently] fear and be in awe; and they will declare the work of God, for they will wisely consider and acknowledge that it is His doing.
The [uncompromisingly] righteous shall be glad in The LORD and shall trust and take refuge in Him; and all the upright in heart shall glory and offer praise. HALLELUJAH!” Psalm 64:1-10 AMP.
“DELIVER US, O LORD, from evil men [and women]; preserve me [us] from violent men [and women]; They devise mischief in their hearts; continually gather together and stir up wars. They sharpen their tongues like a serpent’s; adders’ poison is under their lips. Keep me [us], O LORD, from the hands of the wicked; preserve me [us] from the violent men [and women] who have purposed to thrust aside my [our] steps. The proud have hidden a snare for me [us]; they have spread cords as a net by the wayside, they have set traps for me [us].
I [We] said to The LORD, YOU are my [our] GOD; give ear to the voice of my [our] supplications, O LORD. O GOD The LORD, the STRENGTH of my [our] salvation , YOU have covered my [our] head[s] in the day of battle.
Grant not, O LORD, the desire of the wicked; further not their wicked plot and device, lest they exalt themselves. Those who are fencing me [us] in raise their heads; may the mischief of their own lips and the very things they desire for me [us] come upon them. Let burning coals [2 Samuel 22:9; Psalms 11: 6 & 140:10; Proverbs 26:21] fall upon them; let them be cast into the fire, into floods of water or deep water pits, from which they shall not rise. Let not a man [or women]; of slanderous tongue be established in the earth; let evil hunt the violent man [and woman] to overthrow him [or her] [let calamity follow his [or her] evil doings].
I [We] know and rest in confidence upon it, that The LORD will maintain the cause of the afflicted, and will secure justice for the poor and needy [of His believing in children]. Surely the [uncompromisingly] righteous shall give thanks to YOUR name; the upright shall dwell in YOUR presence (before your very face).” Psalm 140:1-13 AMP.
“Give heed to me [us], LORD; listen to [what] my [our] adversaries [are plotting to do to me [us] – and intercede].” Jeremiah 18:19 AMP.
“8But my eyes are toward You, O God The LORD; in You do I trust and take refuge; pour not out my life nor leave it destitute and bare. 9 Keep me from the trap which they have laid for me, and the snares of evildoers. 10 Let the wicked fall together into their own nets, while I pass over them and escape.” Psalm 141: 8-10.
“But, O LORD of hosts, Who judges rightly and justly, Who tests the heart and the mind, let me [us] see Your vengeance on them, for to You, I [We] have revealed and committed my [our] cause [rolling it upon You.]
Therefore, thus says The LORD. “ about the [unholy] men [and women] of Anathoth [Jeremiah’s hometown] [of the nations] who seek your [our] life [lives] [Jeremiah] and say, Prophesy not in the name of The LORD, that you die not by our hands — Therefore, thus says The LORD of HOSTS, “Behold I will punish them. Their young men will die by the sword, their sons and their daughters will die by famine; And there will be no remnant [of the conspirators] left, for I will bring evil and calamity upon the [unholy] men [and women] of Anathoth [of the nations] in the year of their punishment.” Jeremiah 11:20-23 AMP .
“15 Behold they may gather together and stir up strife, but it is not from Me. Whoever stirs up strife against you shall fall and surrender to you……
…..17 But no weapon that is formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue that shall rise against you in judgment you shall show to be in the wrong. This [peace, righteousness, security, triumph over opposition] is the heritage of the servants of The LORD [those in whom the ideal Servant of The LORD is reproduced]; this is the righteousness or the vindication which they obtain from Me [this is that which I impart to them as their justification], says The LORD.” Isaiah 54:15,17.
“But The LORD is with me[us] as a mighty and terrible One [a DREAD CHAMPION]; therefore my [our] persecutors will stumble; and they will not overcome [me / us]. They will be utterly put to shame, for they will not deal wisely or prosper [in their schemes]; their eternal dishonor will never be forgotten. But, O LORD of hosts, You Who try the righteous, Who see the heart and the mind, let me [us] see Your vengeance on them, for to You have I revealed and committed my [our] cause.” Jeremiah 20:11-12
“Blessed be ADONAI, who did not leave us to be a prey for their teeth! We escaped like a bird from the hunter’s trap! The trap is broken, and we have escaped. Our help is in the name of ADONAI, the maker of heaven and earth.” Psalm 124:6-8 CJB.
“Sing to The LORD! Praise The LORD! For He has delivered the life of the poor and needy from the hands of evildoers.” Jeremiah: 20:13.
“3 But let the [uncompromisingly] righteous be glad; let them be in high spirits and glory before God, Yes, let them [jubilantly] rejoice! 4 Sing to God, sing praises to His name, cast up a highway for Him Who rides through the deserts — His name is The LORD — be in high spirits and glory before Him. 5 A father of the fatherless and a judge and protector of the widows is GOD in His holy habitation. 6 God places the solitary in families and gives the desolate a home in which to dwell; He leads the prisoners out to prosperity; but the rebellious dwell in a parched land.
10 Your flock found a dwelling place in it; You, O GOD, in Your goodness did provide for the poor and needy. 11 The LORD gives the Word [of power] ; the women who bear and publish [the news] are a great host.
19 Blessed be The LORD, Who bears our burdens and carries us day by day, even the GOD Who is our salvation ! 20 GOD is to us a GOD of deliverance and salvation; and to GOD The LORD belongs escape from death [setting us free].
32 SING to GOD, O kingdom of the earth, SING PRAISES to The LORD! 33 [SING PRAISES] to HIM WHO rides upon the heavens, the ancient heavens; BEHOLD, HE sends forth HIS VOICE, HIS MIGHTY VOICE. 34 ASCRIBE POWER and STRENGTH to GOD; HIS MAJESTY is over ISRAEL, [AMERICA AND THE WORLD] and HIS STRENGTH and MIGHT are in the skies.” Psalm 68:3-6,10-11;19-20;32-34 AMP.
“LORD, I PRAY FOR THE PEACE OF JERUSALEM! May they prosper who love you [the Holy City]! 7 May peace be within your [their] walls and prosperity within your [their] palaces! That they will say, “Ba rukh Haba HaShem Adonai, Blessed is He who comes in the name of The LORD.”” Psalm 122:6 -7 AMP.
LORD, we pray for the PEACE OF ISRAEL, AND THE PEACE OF THE WORLD, Your Will be done, Your Kingdom come, on earth as it already is in Heaven. Let it be so.
“LORD as Moses said, “PLEASE LORD, Show Me YOUR GLORY!”” Exodus 33:18.
I declare that the Church’s Faith will not fail, but will rise up and overcome to defeat the enemy in all things, in Jesus’ Name. Amen!
God Bless You!
