I’m Not Ashamed!
I’m certain it’s premature, but I am going to go out on a limb with this one.
I was invited to an advanced screening of, “I’m Not Ashamed,” the latest Pureflix movie documenting the life of Rachel Scott. Her story has touched the lives of many Christians in this nation as she boldly made a stand for Christ even in the face of sure death.
She stands out as exceptional because of what she did, but also because of how uncommon it is for a Christian in this nation to be put in such a position.
Once again the question comes to the surface and our decision regarding it must be made now, not in that time of great duress.
“Would I lay my life on the line for Christ or in that moment where life and death hang in the balance would I deny Him?”
I cannot help but recall the story of Simon Peter. He was possibly the boldest and certainly the most outspoken among the disciples. As Jesus told him of what was to come to pass shortly Peter professed that he would sooner die than deny his Lord. Yet when the time of testing came he faltered on three occasions.
This goes to prove that words do not equate to actions. Peter’s words rang hollow on that fateful night. Yet we know from the historical record that he went on to die a martyr’s death years later. Something changed in him. What it was goes beyond the scope of what I am going to discuss in this post.
Now back to the topic at hand…
Rachel Scott‘s life stands out because it is a rare case in this nation. Yet today many will face a decision just like hers and they will stand firmly in their faith. They will die a martyr’s death.
No one will come to document their story and their bravery in the moment where they make one of the most critical decisions they could have ever imagined. Being martyred for Christ is not as uncommon as we may think in this nation blessed with religious freedom.
As unpopular as this statement may be, it will not always be this way for us. There are many who will join her as martyrs for their faith here in the United States of America.
With that said, don’t think of that critical question as one you will never have to truly answer. Today is the day to make that firm choice.
Below is a trailer for the newest Pureflix movie, “I’m Not Ashamed.”
In addition I am going to share another video story below. It is one that the LORD laid on my heart several years ago and it is sure to bring this question to the forefront.
