If You Have A Broken Heart
I read about a young woman who was waiting in a prayer line for those who were sick.
When it came time for her to be prayed for, the minister asked her about her illness. She replied, “I have been having terrible Asthma attacks for many years.” The Spirit prompted the minister to question her.
He asked, “Is there any sin in you life?” The young lady replied that she didn’t think so.
He then asked her, “Has something happened in your past, something that hurt so badly you never got over it?”
At first, she said no. The minister, being further urged by the Spirit, said, “Are you sure?”
The woman began to cry.
She told him that when she was a little girl, her mother died. Her father remarried and his new wife was very jealous of the close relationship she and her father had.
She said that when the father came home from work in the evenings, the stepmother would tell lies on her, saying that she had misbehaved and was disrespectful to her.
The father believed the woman and he would punish the little girl for things she had never done.
The minister turned to the congregation and said, “This woman is suffering from a broken heart. We are not going to pray for her Asthma, we’re going to pray that God will heal her broken heart.”
And that’s what they prayed for.
The woman testified that from that moment on, she never had another asthma attack!
