If Jesus said It…
There is revelation that is happening in this hour. I do believe that the Spirit, is opening our understanding to things we have never known before. Those who have somehow stopped studying the true Word intensely, and are not seeking even more, to follow the leadership of the Holy Ghost, will miss some things. There are many things that we do not know about God and His ways; so many things that we do not know about the Spirit. Many times, we only know, what those before us knew.
Jesus Christ, spoke many things, during His ministry here on Earth. I don’t say this harshly; I have no reason to do so. With so much emphasis on what the apostles said and did, we often did not realize the full impact, of the fact that Jesus could prophesy; He was a teacher and full of the Holy Ghost; everything He said, was alive.
I wish to share something here. I had gone back to John 14, where he recounted what Jesus said about the Comforter; the Holy Ghost, that would teach, lead and guide. In trying to research something there, I came across more revelation in this text.
15 “If you love Me, keep My commandments. 16 And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever— 17 the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. 18 I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you” John 14:15-18.
Jesus had just assured them that He would not leave them comfortless. He said that the Father and He himself, would come back, and He would manifest himself to them. Now I am not going to argue Godhead or any form of doctrine; I’m not interested in hearing about it; most of us have heard it all before. People are going to believe what they want to believe; let them. What I am interested in here, is that Jesus told them, that He would manifest himself to them. He has truly manifested himself to me, numerous times in my life. I recall an old song we used to sing; listen.
“I’ve had a vision of Jesus, I’ve caught a glimpse of my Lord.” I want to tell you something; we’ve spent many years arguing over some things; we may have wasted some precious time. The church, was supposed to know more than it does today. Our depth in God, and all of the operation of the Spirit, should have far exceeded where we are now. There should have been, much more fullness of Christ; the body much more healthier. It is no longer a secret, that the works of the Spirit, were hindered; many tried to organize it and control it. It set us back. Utterance about visions, waned.
It should have occurred to many of us, to include those in leadership, that hindering the flow of the Spirit, and not allowing ALL gifted folk to minister and operate, would result in a real lack of knowledge about the realm of the Spirit. Talking and testifying about dreams and visions, was once a very common thing; especially among the laity. Jesus said, He would truly manifest Himself to us. Some of us say, we learned that Jesus was with us all the time; no matter what; and He was. Then why, couldn’t we see Him and why didn’t we know He was that close.
In the book of Revelation, He is still at the door knocking. Isn’t it about time, somebody, opened the door?
1 John 2:27 (NKJV)
27 But the anointing which you have received from Him abides in you, and you do not need that anyone teach you; but as the same anointing teaches you concerning all things, and is true, and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you will abide in Him.
