Come follow Me and I will make you fishers of men
Fishing is not normally a fast paced endeavor. For fishermen to be regularly successful, they must apply patience, persistence and attention to detail.
Without patience, we will not wait on the LORD. Impatience arises out of doubt and lack of discipline.
When a fisherman is not confident regarding the location where they are fishing, the tendency is to move on to another. However, if God has put us in a particular place, then we must remain there.
Moving anywhere else means stepping out of His perfect will.
Fishing is often repetitious and can even be monotonous. When it is a wide open bite, anyone can catch fish. However, after hours without a single fish, only the persistent continue on.
Peter had fished all night with nothing to show for it, when Jesus told him to cast his net to the other side. It would seem that there was good reason for him to refuse, noting the many hours of fruitless work already invested.
Peter had persisted all night, yet he had no way of knowing just how close he was to a harvest that he could never imagine, let alone contain. He had labored all night, but there was no harvest until the appointed time. It was then that the divine anointing and the word of knowledge changed everything. (Kairos time).
When casting and hauling empty nets, it matters little what condition they are in. When there is nothing to catch, it would seem as if there is nothing to lose.
One could easily overlook the holes and the weak spots as inconsequential, but the one who pays attention to detail by caring for the nets and ensuring they are fit for use will not miss the harvest. Without proper care and attention to detail the fish may simply swim through or if they are snared in the net they may give way to tearing to the extent that the catch is lost.
We must attend to detail from the mindset that our next cast may be the one we have waited a lifetime for. Who knows? It may well be.
Without a doubt a great harvest is coming. The question is, when that time comes will you be ready?

And when the fish takes the bait he pull it in slowly.. slowly
Jesus did not say that his disciples should be “manhunters,” which is the opposite to a fisherman.
