I Thirst
I Thirst
I thirst for the true Words of Life
I long for the day, the end of all strife.
I ask for Your goodness to be revealed
To You alone, Father, I make my appeal.
I thirst and hunger for righteousness to prevail.
I continue in prayer; my soul does travail.
I call on Your mercy and Your grace,
I seek not Your hand, but Your glorious face.
I thirst as I wait with great anticipation.
I see You are moving with grand determination,
To answer the cries of those deep in prayer
To water them with Your kindness, love, and care.
My thirst is like a parched desert land.
Send forth Your rains; speak Your commands.
Let the powers of darkness tremble with fear
Lo, a small cloud arises, it’s finally here.
The air is full of the promise of rain.
Expectations are rising; nothing can restrain
You have released the promised flood
Of Your Spirit rain and the power of the Blood
I no longer thirst; the living water’s come.
The drought has been broken; the pray-ers have won.
Strongholds have crumbled; lying in great heaps
Your Word has prevailed; Your promise did keep.
