I am Not Afraid
A psalm to praise and sing to God, out loud.
I am Not Afraid
Then I lay down and slept in peace
And woke up safely,
For The LORD was watching over me.
And now, although ten thousand enemies
Surround me on every side,
I am not afraid…
I am not afraid…
For I shall stand firm in my LORD
He will keep me safe
He will answer me
He will deliver me
I am not afraid, not today or tomorrow or ever
I am not afraid…
There I stood, looking across the land
As far I could see
The enemy was like a raging sea
With all his chariots and men taunting me,
But deep down I knew there was more to see
I am not afraid…
I am not afraid…
For The LORD opened my eyes
And revealed His Hosts surrounding the enemy;
Thousands upon thousands more
Outnumbering them all
I am not afraid, not today or tomorrow or ever
I am not afraid…
I shall be led by my LORD
He will command His Angels concerning me
To guard me in all my ways;
They will lift me up in their hands,
So that I will not strike
My foot against a stone
I am not afraid, not today or tomorrow or ever
I am not afraid…
For a thousand may fall at my side
Ten thousand at my right hand
But it will not come near me
I will only observe with my eyes
And see the punishment of the wicked
I am not afraid, not today or tomorrow or ever
I am not afraid…
I am not afraid
Ohhh I am not afraid
For The LORD my God is with me
Wherever I go
I am strong and courageous
While my enemies fall
Like the wicked kings of old
Oh I am not afraid…
Ohhhh I am not afraid, not today or tomorrow or ever
For what can mere mortals do to me
When God is my victory?
In God lies my faith
Underneath His Wings I rest
Oh I am not afraid…not today or tomorrow or ever
I am not afraid
“I lay down and slept; I awoke, for the Lord sustained me. I will not be afraid of ten thousands of people Who have set themselves against me all around. Arise, O Lord; Save me, O my God! For You have struck all my enemies on the cheekbone; You have broken the teeth of the ungodly. Salvation belongs to the Lord. Your blessing is upon Your people. Selah.” Psalm 3:5-8
“He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him I will trust.”
Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from the perilous pestilence. He shall cover you with His feathers, and under His wings you shall take refuge; his truth shall be your shield and buckler. You shall not be afraid of the terror by night, nor of the arrow that flies by day, nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness, nor of the destruction that lays waste at noonday. A thousand may fall at your side, and ten thousand at your right hand; but it shall not come near you. Only with your eyes shall you look, and see the reward of the wicked. Because you have made the Lord, who is my refuge, even the Most High, your dwelling place, no evil shall befall you, nor shall any plague come near your dwelling; for He shall give His angels charge over you, to keep you in all your ways.
In their hands they shall bear you up, lest you dash your foot against a stone. You shall tread upon the lion and the cobra, the young lion and the serpent you shall trample underfoot. Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore I will deliver him; I will set him on high, because he has known My name.
He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him and honor him. with long life I will satisfy him, and show him My Salvation.”” Psalm 91:1-16
“Our help is in the name of the Lord, Who made heaven and earth.” Psalm 124:8
“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9
“When the servant of the man of God rose early in the morning and went out, behold, an army with horses and chariots was all around the city. And the servant said, “Alas, my master! What shall we do?” He said, “Do not be afraid, for those who are with us are more than those who are with them.” Then Elisha prayed and said, “O Lord, please open his eyes that he may see.” So the Lord opened the eyes of the young man, and he saw, and behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.” 2 Kings 6:15-17
“Though an army encamp against me, my heart shall not fear; though war arise against me, yet I will be confident.” Psalm 27:3
“All nations surrounded me; in the name of the Lord I cut them off!” Psalm 118:10
“And Moses said to the people, “Fear not, stand firm, and see the salvation of the Lord, which he will work for you today. For the Egyptians whom you see today, you shall never see again. The Lord will fight for you, and you have only to be silent.”” Exodus 14:13-14
“Be broken, you peoples, and be shattered; give ear, all you far countries; strap on your armor and be shattered; strap on your armor and be shattered. Take counsel together, but it will come to nothing; speak a word, but it will not stand, for God is with us.” Isaiah 8:9-10
