Message
We are now officially in the Jewish New Year 5782!
This is a time of celebration, reflection and prayer.
Now through September 17, we will continue to observe the 10 Days of Awe that began on September 6 with the start of Rosh Hashanah and will end on Yom Kippur.
During this season, The LORD reviews our life for the purposes of promotions and new assignments to come. What happens now sets the pace for the coming new year that we all celebrate on the Gregorian calendar in January.
Now, I’ll share how you can prepare for the new year God is bringing you into!
How to respond
“Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.” Psalm 139:16 NIV
The LORD inscribes our assignments into spiritual books that get revealed to you. They contain instructions, revelation and knowledge. Now is the time to ask The LORD to speak to you about your coming year.
You can also ask God to show you anything in your life that needs changed. You don’t want to look for things that might make you feel bad for yourself or your situation. You want to stay in a place of joy!
Be sure to take time to celebrate and worship The LORD, as this is a key to opening the heavens over you.
“So what shall I do? I will pray with my spirit, but I will also pray with my understanding; I will sing with my spirit, but I will also sing with my understanding.” 1 Corinthians 14:15 NIV.
Spend time singing and praying in the Spirit. You can also pray and sing Bible verses and spontaneous words of praise.
“He says, “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.” Psalm 46:10 NIV
Be sure to not only praise God joyously but also take time to quiet yourself to hear The LORD.
This does not have to be a long time. What is important is to connect with The LORD’s love for you.
Focus more on The LORD’s love for you
“Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.”
Galatians 5:24 NIV.
The Days of Awe are not intended for you to be crushed or down. This is a time of joy and celebration!
“Come, let us sing for joy to The LORD; let us shout aloud to the Rock of our salvation. Let us come before him with thanksgiving and extol him with music and song.” Psalm 95:1-2 NIV.
Many people fast during this time, and I am not saying not to do that. But be sure you are doing everything with joy. This will bring the breakthrough you need.
Internal heart change
“Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.” James 4:8 NKJV.
The LORD wants to do a work inside you that will change things all around you. A s you draw near to Him, The LORD is going to release a fresh revelation of who He is and who you are in Him.
We need the Power of The LORD to change us from the inside out — and there is a fresh release of The LORD’s changing power.
“So he said to me, “This is the word of The LORD … ‘Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit,’ says The LORD Almighty.” Zechariah 4:6 NIV.
The LORD is supernaturally aligning us with His word and will for this coming year!
Blessings,
~ Doug Addison
