How Far We’ve Fallen From The Truth
“When He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come. He will glorify Me, for He will take of what is Mine and declare it to you.” John 16:13-14
I recently saw a video clip of a “prophet” “prophesying” to a woman.
He started telling her what kind of perfume her sister wore at her wedding. The woman was in awe; shouting and clapping along with the crowd, prompting the man to continue.
I said to The LORD; “How far we’ve fallen from the truth…”
Jesus sent the Advocate — The Spirit of Truth — to reveal to us what is to come and what will bring glory to His Name.
Yet our views of God, His Son, and the purpose of The Holy Spirit have become so tainted and pointed inward (self-preserving and self-fulfilling) that we’ve completely missed the point.
Instead, we’re defining The Holy Spirit as running around, falling over chairs, breaking heels off shoes, and soothsayers who tell you PO Box numbers, names of dead grannies, and how much money you need to give.
The Spirit of The LORD was not given to glorify men, groups, a nation, Church, nor (spiritual) gifts. He [Ruach Kodesh] is here to reveal THE TRUTH (the mystery) of the will of God for our lives: our purpose and instruction.
It is an earth-bound assignment with a heavenly reward.
And as we grow in Christ; increasing in His Knowledge and Wisdom, The Holy Spirit as our teacher, should be who we depend on; not the voice of man.
A true teacher/ leader/ mentor of YHVH-God will train and lead you to total dependency on Him.
Then all that is given to you by Him, will be confirmed through two or three witnesses (those who also hear from The LORD) as the scriptures stated.
In the end, Jesus told His disciples that they would be brought before authorities and rulers; but not to worry about what to say (or how to respond) because The Holy Spirit would speak on their behalf.
This is the Spirit of Truth.

A word fitly spoken and in due season is like apples of gold in settings of silver. Prov. 15:23. Thank you sister for speaking this urgent word!
Yes.Amen! Hallelujah!
AMEN!!!
Shalom Aleichem!
Thank you for sharing His Awesome Beauty!
Well, God knows what kind of validation He wishes to give for His reasons, to someone. Jesus brought up a private word to the woman at the well, before going on to what He wanted to say to her.
@Arlen,
I think the point being made is that such shows of “words of knowledge” can often be demonic and from familiar spirits, and that one needs to judge the spirit in such cases.
