How Faith Works by Vision
I read once that Michelangelo the great sculptor and artist said:
Inside every stone is a sculpture of something. The test of the sculptors ability, is to reveal that sculpture [by taking off that which covers or hides the sculpture inside the stone], he will need a vision to see that which is within the stone before he can begin or even do the work.
This is not a direct quote, but it illustrates what he taught about seeing a sculpture beforehand.
Having been a Stone Sculptor I myself have proven that this is true. I used to demonstrate before the public sculpting and how it is done.
I would place a natural stone that set upright on the work bench for people passing by to see. When someone asked about the stone, I would answer back to them, “What do you see in the stone? ”
Many just looked at the upright stone [still un-sculpted] and say: “I see a stone.”
“No.” I said, “What do you see in the stone which needs to come out?”
Many could then see something, and then I knew they could sculpt that stone. But, again many could “See nothing”.
To them I would say, “Perhaps you are not a sculptor, for one to sculpt he must see something before he begins!”
But a person must see something — First — or else the sculpture could not be done with satisfaction.
This is exactly how Faith works. Faith works by Vision of that which is unseen as of yet.
Faith is seeing something beforehand, that will follow.
So without Vision — No Faith! But if one sees a Vision — that one can move by faith in the unseen!
“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” Hebrews 11:1.
“But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to god must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an Ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by Faith.” Hebrews 11:6-7.
There is another verse which essentially says the same thing:
“Where there is no vision, the people perish….” Proverbs 29:18a.
The absolute Truth is: Without a Vision many will perish — and that, because nothing would be done right to help them for they had no Faith.
So, Faith and Vision are much the same working together.
Another way that it can be expressed is like this:
The call of God comes with a Vision. The Vision was clear that one is “Called to be a minister, etc.”
Jesus said one should lift up his eyes to see the wheat, white and ready for harvest.
In other words, one needs to see The Harvest — before it is harvested — to even be motivated to begin to harvest!
So, back to the word Vision.
A Vision is the basis of Faith. The fact is when one sees a Vision, he is given Hope, and Hope is the very thing necessary to move forward.
If a person has no Vision, how can that person work?
And if there is lack of Vision… there is lack of Faith.
And if there is lack of Faith… then men cannot please God in anything he does.
For without Faith — one cannot please God!

I have posted this teaching word in obedience to my holy spirit teacher, which I have heard by Faith in His Words.
The Holy Spirit teacher is teaching about Faith. Do you have a Vision of Faith?

I appreciate this message. It helps focus faith on hopes the Lord has put in my heart. I am a big one for spending hours in my mind imagining how things might turn out.
