How Do YOU Want to Live?
How Do YOU Want to Live?
by Guest Author, Deborah Som
I truly believe in Jesus Christ as my LORD and personal Saviour and do not practice numerology in any way; however, there are times when God speaks to me through numbers (seeing the same number(s) repeatedly.
The numbers are usually followed by corresponding scriptures. For instance, 10:41 (in reverse) could be God speaking Isaiah 41:10 to me, 828 is Romans 8:28, 831 is Romans 8:31, 6:33 is Matthew 6:33, 444 is Psalms 44:4, 311 is Ecclesiastes 3:11, and so on.
A couple of days ago, when news broke that COVID-19 had been introduced into my country by a foreigner, The LORD spoke to me, amid the sudden national panic, that the only way to cure a disease is by introducing an antidote to reverse it.
I didn’t quite understand what He meant by that, so I pressed in for more. He said the reverse of 19 is 91, and immediately cast my mind on Psalm 91, popularly known as the ‘Prayer for Security and Protection.’
I glanced at my phone screen and it was 10:10 AM; which is John 10:10,
“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come so that they may have life, and may have it abundantly….”
Some minutes later, my eyes caught the time at 10:19 AM. It suddenly, resonated in my spirit to check (the reverse of 10:19) Psalm 91:10. It reads,
“No harm will overtake you; no illness will come near your home….”
It then dawned on me that the antidote for reversing COVID-19 is Psalms 91, particularly in verse 10. Some Bible versions read illness, disease or plague.
The kind of illness contemplated in Psalms 91:10 is contractable, just as David noted in Psalms 38:11,
“Because of my condition, even my friends and acquaintances keep their distance; my neighbours stand far away….”
This is true of the Coronavirus Disease 2019. It is contractable, and people keep their distance from those who suffer it.
How can we then keep ourselves protected from this dreadful virus?
We cannot control the spread of this disease, but we can keep ourselves protected from it by:
1. Hiding under the blood of Jesus Christ.
“The blood will be a sign for you on the houses where you are, and when I see the blood, I will pass over you. No destructive plague will touch you when I strike Egypt.” Exodus 12:13.
You may take the Holy Communion daily, if you are so led;
2. Having unwavering confidence in God and His Word.
We need to strengthen our minds with John 10:10 and Psalm 91:10.
These two verses encourage us that Jesus has come to give us life in abundance, therefore, He will never allow any evil or disease come near our homes;
3. Ridding your mind of fear.
There are so many reports in the media concerning this virus, some true and some not founded.
Many fear-instilling articles are on the rise, so you have to guard your heart diligently and filter what information you take in.
Acquire proper knowledge from reliable sources and keep yourself and your loved ones well-informed. Strengthen your heart with the Word of God to build your faith against fear.
I recently read a book on the Seven Mountains of influence, wherein the author noted that the Media, as a mountain of influence in the society, is occupied by the Hittites (Deuteronomy 7:1).
The word ‘Hittite’ comes from the name ‘Heth’, which means ‘fear’ or ‘terror’. Apollyon, also known as Abbadon, serves as the ruling spirit over the Hittites, and his name means ‘destruction’ or ‘destroyer’.
The enemy controls the media as a tormenting tool to instill fear and destruction in the hearts of people, with their stinging tales.
“They had tails (or tales for our purposes) with stingers, like scorpions, and in their tails they had power to torment people for five months. They had as king over them the angel of the Abyss, whose name in Hebrew is Abaddon and in Greek is Apollyon, that is, Destroyer.” Revelation 9:10-11.
Research has it that the COVID-19 has an incubation period of 5 to 28 days. With the widespread of conflicting resources and materials on the media about this virus, what do you think would be the fate of a Common Cold/ Flu patient?
They will most likely die from fear, desertion or stigma (or even commit suicide) in quarantine, much sooner than they are confirmed free from the coronavirus, after 28 days.
God is telling His children today, not to give in to fear, but to ask Him for protection and trust in His protective power and grace.
4. Our confessions and declarations.
We are in the Hebrew year 5780 which is also known as the ‘Year of the Mouth’.
We use our mouth to make declarations. Is it not a wonder that this virus spreads mainly through the mouth?
Make daily declarations of Psalm 91 over yourself and loved ones.
Study and ground yourself in the Word of God to build your faith against fear, for you have not received the spirit of fear, but of power, love and a sound mind.
Faith comes by hearing the word of God, and out of the abundance of the word of God in your heart, your mouth shall speak and declare God’s promises over yourself.
5. Obedience to God and His Word. God’s promises are usually with conditions of obedience.
For Psalm 91 to have full effect in our lives, we must ‘dwell in the secret place of the Most High’ and ‘take refuge in The LORD,’ Psalm 91:1,9.
The LORD says in Psalms 91:14,
“Because he is devoted to Me, I will deliver him; I will protect him because he is loyal to Me…..”
Also in Exodus 15:26, ‘It is written,
“If you diligently heed the voice of The LORD your God and do what is right in His sight, give ear to His commandments and keep all His statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you which I have brought on the Egyptians. For I AM The LORD Who heals you.” ‘
6. Be wise, be well-informed, be practical. Heed all instructions by reliable sources, especially the WHO, on how to prevent the COVID-19.
Jesus said, “Do not do a foolish thing to see if your LORD God will save you,” Matthew 4:7.
Take every precautionary measure to protect yourself from this plague.
God’s promise of protection is not an excuse for carelessness, rather, it is to remind us of His omnipotence, the covenant blessings we have with Him, and to strengthen our hearts against fear.
Choose for yourself today how you want to live: in God’s protection, or in fear?”
