How Do We Handle Correction?
“Whoso loveth instruction loveth knowledge: but he that hateth reproof is brutish.” Proverbs 12:1.
Good morning.
Today I wish to speak on who are we truly and what do we want as Christians?
Do we want a big name title for ourselves and praise and adoration of men?
The other question is would we rather humble ourselves and learn from our mistakes?
In a recent post I was just going too fast and titled a article I wrote ‘completely backwards’!
Did I mean to? No, but I was graciously corrected by someone who commented on my post and saw my error.
He gave me a scripture to back it up. Quickly I saw he was 100% correct. Some small things are actually big!
With that wrong title it made my article in error. It needed correcting and it soon was re-titled.
Should we be offended because someone points out something wrong we said or did as leaders?
Absolutely not! We then need stop and see if God is using that person to correct us? That’s a good thing!
Another e.g. sometimes we get hit by people who just want to argue and debate over everything we say.
I don’t have time for that. Still in The LORD, I want to be patient as long as I can help.
We just need know when to break loose if someone just has a spirit of argument.
The LORD wants us all teachable as Christians. I thank God for correction. Trying to learn as I go.
“He that refuseth instruction despiseth his own soul: but he that heareth reproof getteth understanding.” Proverbs 15:32.
“All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:” 2 Timothy 3:16.
God bless you.
