How Do Hearts Become Stony?
Beloved, The LORD is saying, “Spend some time soaking in My Presence today and envision your heart as a sponge that is absorbing the warmth of My Love to cleanse and refresh you from the atmosphere of the wickedness that is being poured out in the atmosphere of the world.
Continue to prophesy health to your body. It is my love that will enable you to triumph and conquer the fear that is causing many hearts to become hard.
Abuse, manipulation, deception, lack, betrayal and persecution are beginning to cause many to drift away from Truth and surrender to the control and witchcraft that is abounding in the world.
The stone was rolled away and Resurrection Power is the Truth that will keep you grounded and protected and deliver you from the lies of the enemy.
Do not roll away the “Stones of Remembrance” spoken of in My Word,” says the Savior. (Joshua 4:1-24)
“Just as I parted the water then, I shall demonstrate My Power again so that all the peoples of the earth may know that The Hand of The LORD is mighty and The Fear of The LORD shall grip the hearts of mankind.
Never forget, I have told you in My Word that in Me you may have peace. In this world you will have tribulation. But take heart! I have overcome the world,” says The LORD of Glory.
“I have called you to be an overcomer in the midst of the chaos in the world. Prepare your heart and take care not to allow your love to gradually grow cold as you are surrounded with the increase of wickedness and the pandemonium and persecution that is happening now.
Let the remainder of the month of August ever be a stone of remembrance to you as an awesome awakening time to the Truth of My Miracle Working Power and know that you shall be remembered as my living stones of remembrance that I have placed in the midst of a lost and dying world today,” declares the God of Eternal Goodness.
“Now when the entire nation had finished crossing the Jordan, The LORD spoke to Joshua, saying, “Take for yourselves twelve men from the people, one man from each tribe, and command them, saying, ‘Take up for yourselves twelve stones from here out of the middle of the Jordan, from the place where the priests’ feet are standing firmly, and carry them over with you and lay them down in the encampment where you will spend the night.’” So Joshua called the twelve men whom he had appointed from the sons of Israel, one man from each tribe; and Joshua said to them, “Cross again to the ark of The LORD your God into the middle of the Jordan, and each of you take up a stone on his shoulder, according to the number of the tribes of the sons of Israel. This shall be a sign among you; when your children ask later, saying, ‘What do these stones mean to you?’ then you shall say to them, ‘That the waters of the Jordan were cut off before the ark of the covenant of The LORD; when it crossed the Jordan, the waters of the Jordan were cut off.’ So these stones shall become a memorial to the sons of Israel forever.” So the sons of Israel did exactly as Joshua commanded, and took up twelve stones from the middle of the Jordan, just as The LORD spoke to Joshua, according to the number of the tribes of the sons of Israel; and they carried them over with them to the encampment and put them down there. Then Joshua set up twelve stones in the middle of the Jordan at the place where the feet of the priests who carried the ark of the covenant were standing, and they are there to this day. For the priests who carried the ark were standing in the middle of the Jordan until everything was completed that The LORD had commanded Joshua to speak to the people, according to all that Moses had commanded Joshua. And the people hurried and crossed; and when all the people had finished crossing, then the ark of The LORD and the priests crossed in front of the people. The sons of Reuben, the sons of Gad, and the half-tribe of Manasseh crossed over in battle formation before the sons of Israel, just as Moses had spoken to them; about forty thousand equipped for war, crossed for battle before The LORD to the desert plains of Jericho.
On that day The LORD exalted Joshua in the sight of all Israel, so that they revered him, just as they had [e]revered Moses all the days of his life. Now The LORD said to Joshua, “Command the priests who carry the ark of the testimony that they come up from the Jordan.” So Joshua commanded the priests, saying, “Come up from the Jordan.” It came about when the priests who carried the ark of the covenant of The LORD had come up from the middle of the Jordan, and the soles of the priests’ feet were lifted up to the dry ground, that the waters of the Jordan returned to their place, and went over all its banks as before. Now the people came up from the Jordan on the tenth of the first month and camped at Gilgal, on the eastern edge of Jericho. As for those twelve stones which they had taken from the Jordan, Joshua set them up at Gilgal. And he said to the sons of Israel, “When your children ask their fathers in time to come, saying, ‘What are these stones?’ then you shall inform your children, saying, ‘Israel crossed this Jordan on dry ground.’ For The LORD your God dried up the waters of the Jordan before you until you had crossed, just as The LORD your God had done to the [j]Red Sea, which He dried up before us until we had crossed; so that all the peoples of the earth may know that the hand of The LORD is mighty, so that you may fear The LORD your God [l]forever.” Joshua 4:1-24.
There are so many who have developed stony hearts due to difficulties and angry mindsets about things they cannot change.
Vindictive attitudes and lack of trust in unreconciled relationships have caused many to no longer trust God or man.
“And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.” Matthew 24:12.
We must begin to examine our own hearts. We must do a heart check up to be sure we are truly in the faith (2 Corinthians 13:5).
If we truly belong to Christ, we can be confident that we possess the love from The Spirit that never grows cold.
Won’t you pray with me?
“LORD, I ask that as I endeavor to increase my love.
I pray that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, so that I may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless for the day of Christ, filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ — to the glory and praise of God.” (Philippians 1:9–11).
The only answer does not lie in trusting circumstances or people, but in trusting God and gaining His wisdom.
Remember, stony hearts are stuck in one place, they have most likely become disenchanted with God because of trials that did not change.
Begin to trust the people He places in your life and accept the things you cannot change.
I hear The LORD charging us today to: “Awake unto righteousness, and stand firm to the end. Having done all to stand, stand.”
Remember Hebrews 3:15 says “Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts.” A soft heart that earnestly listens to God opens up the door to a true relationship with Him”
“When I am afraid, I put my trust in you. In God, whose word I praise, in God I trust; I shall not be afraid. What can flesh do to me?” Psalm 56:3-4 ESV.
“Search me, O God, and know my heart; try me, and know my thoughts; and see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.” Psalm 139:23-24.
“Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.” James 1:2-4.
“The Spirit clearly says that in later times some will abandon the faith and follow deceiving spirits and things taught by demons. Such teachings come through hypocritical liars, whose consciences have been seared as with a hot iron.” 1 Timothy 4:1-2.
Ezekiel 36:26 says I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh. With a soft heart we can enjoy the closeness of others by being tenderhearted and forgiving as God has forgiven us (Ephesians 4:32).
