I was meditating upon The LORD and He said, “When the people get tired of being defeated, they will come after Me with a holy hunger that cannot be quenched with natural food or water!”

As I begin to read and to ponder about Elkanah and his two wives: Peninnah and Hannah, I begin to think about how The LORD can allow our enemies to provoke us to go after Him for deliverance!

You see Peninnah had children, but Hannah had no children and it grieved Hannah to her heart that she could not bear her husband any children and Peninnah knew this and this is why she made fun of Hannah and made her cry even more!

Isn’t that just like your enemies when they find out what your weaknesses are they will press in on the wounds even harder to cause you to cry?

But what Peninnah didn’t realize was that she was actually helping Hannah to birth (her spiritual midwife) her destiny and her vision as well as her child’s purpose for the Nations!

People, don’t cry because your enemies have uncovered one of your weaknesses, because what God will do, is that He will take what your enemies are using against you and turn it out for your good to bless you and to promote you into a heavenly place.

Elkanah went up to the House of God year by year, to bless both of his wives, but when Hannah went up to the House of The LORD, Peninnah provoked her; therefore she wept, and did not eat.

Then said Elkanah her husband to her, Hannah, why weepest thou? And why eatest thou not? And why is thy heart grieved? Am not I better to thee than ten sons?

So Hannah rose up after they had eaten in Shiloh, and after they had drunk. Now Eli the priest sat upon a seat by a post of the temple of The LORD. And she was in bitterness of soul, and prayed unto The LORD, and wept sore, (1 Samuel 1:7-10 KJV).

Hannah was so desperate she even made a vow, and said, O LORD of hosts, if thou wilt indeed look on the affliction of thine handmaid, and remember me, and not forget thine handmaid, but wilt give unto thine handmaid a man child, then I will give him unto The LORD all the days of his life, and there shall no razor come upon his head.

I believe that God knew Hannah would make such a vow and it would bring both her and Samuel into his perfect will to be able to walk in their God given destiny!

All Hannah needed was a push from her adversary Peninnah who caused her to rise up and to go after God with everything within her! People sometimes God has to cause a little competitiveness in order to get his people to get off their do nothing in order to do something!

Hannah prayed so much and she fasted so until Eli the priest thought she was a drunk but little did he know Hannah had been in prayer continuously and she refused to eat or drink until her petition was granted by God!

But, I hear God saying to His People, “How bad do you want it?”

How bad do you really want a breakthrough from God and how much of a sacrifice are you truly willing to give to get it?

Hannah was willing to put everything on the line for this child: she went up to the house of God; even though she knew her adversary would be there to brag on herself and mock her failures but she still pressed on any way!

She gave up her leisure time to stay in the face of God praying and worshiping him for a supernatural breakthrough!

Until, one day Eli the priest begin to question her and to ask her why she was so drunk, and she let him know don’t judge me as a daughter of Belial: for out of the abundance of my complaint and grief have I spoken hitherto.

And, it was then Eli herd from God and said go God grant you thy petition!

Hannah knew in her heart God had herd her and she arose and got up and ate, had sex with her husband and it was then God impregnated her and she birthed her baby!

People God wants His People to know that anything worth having is worth traveling in the spirit for, if we want to see the promises of God.

And, it will not come cheap Hannah went through this process year after year until she got tired of the enemy and decided to put him to flight!

And, she was determined that nothing not nobody was going to stop her from getting her breakthrough and receiving her inheritance!

What will you allow in this season to stop you from going after God with all your heart?

Know, trust and believe God has an adversary that will cause you to arise should you become complacent!
