Hold The Church High!
I think we have a great responsibility to the LORD and to His Church to present our words and to express our thoughts with accuracy.
Many times great truths are miss communicated by a poor choice of words and what really burns in our hearts are many times misread or misunderstood as a result of how we present it in the communication of our words.
Take the word “Church” for instance which we have so readily used, and today still misuse, when talking about things that are out of order. For instance, we may say something like, “the Church is dead”, or “the Church is backslidden.”
In doing so, many really have the good intention of communicating that there is a great need for revival among those who are religious and part of a religious system depraved from God’s Presence.
We should however then make it clear that it is religion we are referring to!
Why?
Because “the Church” is the model that should be our standard to grow into! We should compare what’s wrong with the true Church and not call what is wrong “the Church”!
The true Church should be the standard by which we unclothe everything falsely presented as the Church, that is not!
The “Church” as presented in the Book of Acts, should be held high as our beacon of light by which we call those who belong to the body of Christ to be conformed to!
Let’s change our language and in so doing define with greater clarity what God reveals and ignites within our hearts.
Amen?
