Hearing the Voice of The Lord
When you have heard someone’s voice once or twice or if we have not heard it recently, you may not recognize it immediately when hearing it again. However, if you hear someone’s voice everyday it becomes familiar. Not only do you recognize it, you anticipate hearing.
That is how it is in our relationship with the LORD. Most state that they have heard God’s voice at one point or another in their lives but they do not hear from Him regularly nor have they heard from Him recently. As such their walk with Jesus lacks in recognition and intimacy.
The questions are these:
If we hear God only rarely (if ever), is it due to the fact that He only speaks to us rarely?
Or does He speak often, but only rarely are we truly listening?

I believe those ‘quiet’ periods is when we shall continue to walk in obedience, until ‘next’ appointed meeting.
