Hearing God, as a Believer in the Church
I heard God say that He is about to do something new in the land that all that hear it there ears will tingle (1 Samuel 3:11).
I heard God say to me that many times He has to chase those who are unbelieving in order to make them a believer! Why? Because many of you do not believe in what God is trying to tell you, so He will use other means and ways of getting our attention!
For example: God used a vision to get Belshazzar to see a dream which made him afraid, and the thoughts upon his bed and the visions of his head troubled him (Daniel 4:5). Belshazzar brought the golden vessels which were taken out of the Temple of the house of God which was at Jerusalem; and the king, and his princes, his wives, and his concubines, drank from them (Daniel 5:3).
But God had to show him that He was not pleased with what he had done and as a result; God sent a dream to chase him and to chasten him! Because like so many, they do not believe and respect the power of God in the church and are caught up in their own beliefs, doctrine, and ways of doing things in the church! But, when God gets a jolt to you, you will believe!
God spoke to me and said that many people question what they do not understand what they believe, because they have not been touched by God, or have not sought him for any directions, answer or for instructions in there christian walk or ministry! But, just as God had to speak to Cornelius to show him what He wanted him to do, so will He deal with you, like He did with Peter! God will send people to you, are have them to come to you to tell you what He wants done in this season, but it is up to you to hear the voice of God! The Holy Spirit will not force anyone to receive Him in this season, because He is a gentleman! It is up to you to hear the voice of God in this season!
God will chastise and deal with those who is kicking against the prick in this season! Peter did not believe that the gentiles had just as much right to salvation as the Jews! So, God had to get Peter’s attention by way of a vision! God had a plan that would take Cornelius down a new path in his spiritual walk with God, so god sent the angel to inform Cornelius to send the two men to Joppa to get peter to preach to Cornelius at his house!
You see, I heard God saying that many times, we don’t see it, but God is working behind the scenes to fix what is broken in the body of Christ, but we must have an ear to hear what the Spirit is saying unto the church, unless we miss what God is trying to say to us in this season!
I hear God saying that many times we are broken and the sad thing is that we don’t even know that we are broken. We think that it is someone else that has the problem and all the time it is us!
Cornelius was broken because he thought that Peter was a god and began bowing down at the feet of Peter worshiping him! Peter had to tell him to arise and to stand up, because he himself was a man like Cornelius was! (Acts 10: 25-26). Isn’t it sad when we view the people and leaders in the church more than what they truly are which is flesh! We so quickly forget that these people are flesh and blood like me and you are, and they too need to seek God for direction and revelations for their ministries and their own walk with God, and when we start treating them more than God himself, we are in danger of walking in deception. But thank God, Peter took a stand and told Cornelius the right way!
I hear God saying it is bad to put so much trust in the word of another man, that you yourself cannot seek the one that made man! What Cornelius did not know was that God was getting ready to show him that Peter did not have all the answer either, and in fact, Peter was wrong about some of his religious beliefs, as well!
This is why God had to speak to Peter in prayer as He went up into the house top to pray, by way of a vision! God used nature to get Peter’s attention by using a sheet, four footed beast, wild beast, fowls of the air, and other creeping things on the earth in his vision to show Peter that which God was calling clean, was not unclean! (Acts 10:11-16).
I hear God saying, doesn’t that sound like something which we the church have been guilty of doing for years? Someone in the church can say God called them to preach; especially a woman, or that God called them to be an Apostle, Prophet, Teacher, or that God has not shown them that it is right to be a tithe payer etc…. And there we go, fighting that person tooth and nail, instead of praying and seeking the face of The Lord about it!
But, God! I said, but God had to speak to Peter to show him that he was causing some problems with others who were just as good as Peter was! What did Peter say? Well, Peter said, “You know how unlawful it is for a Jewish man to keep company with or go to one of another nation. But God has shown me that I should not call any man common or unclean. Therefore I came without objection as soon as I was sent for. I ask, then, for what reason have you sent for me?” Acts 10:28-29. Peter actually entered the house of a gentile, something that his Jewish customs and traditions strictly prohibited, by entering a gentile’s home, Peter showed that his heart and mind had changed, and that he had learned the lesson of the vision of the great sheet.
I hear god saying that some of us have not learned anything. Like Peter, we think that we know the mind, the thoughts, and the heart of God, so we keep division and strife in the body of Christ, about who is right and who is wrong, instead, of consulting and acknowledging God about it and allowing him to work it out among the body of Christ, by praying! We fight and divide the whole body of Christ in front of other unbelievers who are trying to find Christ in the church; as a result, the mission and the purpose of Christ is lost!
I hear God saying that it is time to step a side and to allow Him to work it out, just as He did with Peter! Because, while we are trying to work it out, God has both a plan and is making provision for those who have been excluded, left out and rejected, like the Jews in the body of Christ!
I hear god saying, stay the course and keep the faith, because vengeance belongs to God and He said that He will repay all those who offend and hurt His people in this season, saith The Lord!
I hear God saying that He is getting ready to chase and to chasten those who hurt the body of Christ, just as He did, Peter! Peter had to explain in his message that he received in the vision, realizing that God wasn’t only (or even primarily) talking about food in the vision (He should not call any man, common, or unclean). Peter understood that the vision was about people, not food. But the principle still relates to food.
How many times has God given us revelations and you think that it means one thing, and actually God is trying to show you another? Peter consulted God for the interpretation of his vision and God gave him an understanding, because he was open to hear the voice of God and willing to die to his own vision! (thoughts, beliefs, religion).
I hear God saying that many of us will judge folks regarding an obligation to keep a kosher diet, what color they should be to attend your church: white, black, Chinese, if the person is watching TV, the clothes a person wears (pants in the church), if a woman should preach, teach, talk in the church, non-denominational churches are not of God etc..
Paul knew this principle: I know and am convinced by The Lord Jesus, that there is nothing unclean of itself (Romans 14:14). Therefore he could conclude, therefore let no one judge you in food or in drink…which are a shadow of things to come, but the substance is of Christ (Colossians 2:16-17).
I hear God saying that, “There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus” (Galatians 3:28).
God is tired of all the division and strife in the church among the believers in the world! I hear God saying that every believer needs to ask him or herself a simple question: “When you go to church, do you want to receive a good message? If so, the best way to do that is to come with an open mind, soul and prepared heart to receive from the Holy Spirit what He has for you.
I hear God saying that many of you, God desires to show you His hidden treasures and revelations; as well as His heart, mind and thoughts in this season. But your eyes and your ears are stopped up with your own vision and way of doing things, and unless you allow the Holy Spirit to speak to you, you will continue to do things the way your (flesh) wants to do them and will miss God, as a result!
Don’t miss God in this season. Open up you spiritual mind as Peter did, to hear and to see all that God is trying to show you in this season!
