He Loves and Likes You!
God’s love is amazing, the bible says; “Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God!” 1 John 3:1. This is a different kind of love; it is superior to any love which most times is conditional love. God loves you, think about this!! That is why you are called a child of God. The next verse says; “Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is” 1 John 3:2. You are now called His beloved, because He is the Lover of your soul. Many people are suffering from depression, an uncommon sense of rejection and a victim mentality, simply because they have not known the love of God.
God’s love is not to be known as a fact, but it should be experienced because it surpasses knowledge. “That Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height — to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God” Ephesians 3:17-19. As a child of God, you need to be grounded, rooted and established in His love. This is very profound; it will automatically affect your perceptions and feelings, and will enable you to walk in love with confidence. When an orange tree is planted in fertile soils, it will inevitably produce oranges. Could it be that the reason many of God’s children are preoccupied with those who hate, reject and use them, is because they are not grounded in God’s love? He says when you are rooted in this love, you will be able to comprehend the depth, and the height and the width of this love which is beyond mental assimilations. God’s love is real; it is not an academic fact, but an experiential blessing that abides with us causing us to live a life of victory. Think about this, every time you have a need or a challenge, you instinctively turn to those you trust that they love you. You call upon those whom you are sure won’t misunderstand you or withhold help from you. This happens always even when you are betrayed by friends! If this is the natural reaction, then when we are rooted in God’s love, this will be supernaturally natural for us to trust and turn to Him with no fear of retribution or rejection.
God does not only love you, He likes you. There are many scriptures which emphasize this, but many would rather believe that He is annoyed with them and teaching them a lesson through suffering. That goes against the grain of His nature. “The LORD thy God in the midst of thee is mighty; he will save, he will rejoice over thee with joy; he will rest in his love, he will joy over thee with singing” Zephaniah 3:17. God rejoices over you with singing as you rest in His love. Surely, God loves you; He cannot mistreat, misuse nor abuse you in anyway. The human prototypes and stereotypes you have cannot be compared to God; for many people’s love is conditional. It is withheld when circumstances change and most times it is earned. You cannot earn God’s love; it is the kind that is given when it is undeserved. He loved the world so much so that He gave His only Son (John 3:16). “But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us” Romans 5:8. Today enjoy, soak in God’s love regardless of your circumstances. Do not attribute the work of Satan to God; God is a creator and not a destroyer. Because of His love, He cannot send anyone to treat you disrespectfully or to mistreat you; but instead He reminds you how much He values and likes you! The good news is, God will not desert you at your time of need. No matter what happens around you, as long as you are conscious of God’s love, all things will work for your good.
