HE is your Husband!
~HE IS YOUR HUSBAND,
AND ALL THINGS ARE YOURS~
THE FEELING THAT YOU ARE ENTITLED BECAUSE YOU ARE!
I was meditating this morning on how, when our husbands or wives get something new, we feel like it is ours also. For example, when my husband gets French Fries at McDonald’s, I just naturally think that it is my right to eat some of them! When we are married, the Bible says that we are one flesh, Mark 10:8 8 (NIV) “and the two will become one flesh.” But you see, the Bible talks about us being one with Christ.
Ephesians 5:30-32 (NIV) “for we are members of his body. “For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh.” This is a profound mystery — but I am talking about Christ and the church.
Yes we are one with Christ. We are His beloved and He wants us to go about our day, with a knowing that all that He has belongs to us too and if we want it or need it to do His will it is ours.Sometimes His will is more simple at the moment, than going out and preaching even if that is his will for you. But maybe today, He wants to just get me some shoes so I can walk and improve my health!
God knows your needs but delights in making you smile! He loves to give you little surprises to make your day and He doesn’t need money to do it! Once I was going through a very lean period in my life and I was a walker and bought walking shoes that cost a lot of money. I had worn mine out walking 5 miles a day every day. On my Birthday that year, I went to a garage sale, and all at once, I saw a pair of the same shoes, same brand and style of walking shoes sitting there brand new in a box. I went over and picked them up and sure enough they were my size! I looked at the tag and thought that it said $20.00.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY JO
At that time, I didn’t even have that much money. When I got to the woman who was taking money I said, “I would of bought those shoes, but didn’t have that much money on me!” Little did she know I didn’t have it anywhere! To my surprise she said “Oh, those aren’t $20.00 they are $2.00!! As soon a she said that, the Lord said, “Happy Birthday Jo!” I walked away knowing the Lord loved me and cared about the small things in my life. He cared about the things that mattered to me. He cared about just me. Sometimes His will is more simple at the moment, than going out and preaching, even if that is His will for you. But maybe today, He wants to just get me some shoes, so I can walk and improve my health…. Maybe
I AM MARRIED TO YOU
Our Maker is our Husband. He wants you to understand that He is married to you and nothing that you have done in your past, can change His love for you! You are His delight!
You see, I thought for many years, because I had gone through a divorce as a Christian, that I had committed the unpardonable sin. I thought that I didn’t “Deserve” anything that was pleasurable from the Lord, but He wants to prove His love to you! He desires for you to understand how much His forgiveness is extended and how rich His Mercy is Isaiah 54: For your Maker is your husband the Lord Almighty is his name — the Holy One of Israel is your Redeemer; he is called the God of all the earth. The Lord will call you back as if you were a wife deserted and distressed in spirit — a wife who married young, only to be rejected, says your God.
“For a brief moment I abandoned you, but with deep compassion I will bring you back. In a surge of anger I hid My face from you for a moment, but with everlasting kindness I will have compassion on you,” says the Lord your Redeemer.
ALL THINGS THAT ARE MINE BELONG TO YOU
He wants you to know that He cares about you. Yes, you! He is not a God who is far off! He is here and He cares for your everyday needs. He Loves you with an everlasting love! He wants you to know that what is His belongs to you, so that you do not have to worry about things. He wants you to be carefree to be able to do and be all that you can be in His Kingdom! After all He has prepared a table before you in the presence of your enemies!
“His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness. Through these he has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature, having escaped the corruption in the world caused by evil desires,” 2 Peter 1:3 (NIV).
