Have YOU tamed your tongue?
I have seen the words used today in various messages, such as ‘Integrity’, ‘Intimacy’, and others. The book of James in the latter part of the New Testament, gives us the most vivid account of how important it is to grow to the level of spiritual maturity where we understand how important it is to be able to control our tongues.
We call a prophet a, ‘mouthpiece of God’. But how many of us are guilty of allowing bitter and sweet water to come out of our mouths?
I hear God saying,
“Many who call themselves prophets are only speaking out of the vanity of their minds because they proclaim correction and judgment on others when they themselves have already judged themselves out of their own mouths by refusing to remove the sin out of their lives. I will not accept their words, because they have mixed the holy with the unholy, the clean with the unclean.
My body is made up of many members. Even the little finger and little toe each serves its own specific purpose. I have designed each member to be used in My Kingdom for the purpose I design. The head could speak, see, hear, smell, think, and taste; but it can only feel when the hand places something on it.
The arm has to be able to move and the elbow bend in order for the hand to reach the face of the head. There are many demonstrations of My Spirit but only One Lord Who rules and reigns.
My true prophets who yield to My voice out of a pure heart are those whom I have tested and tried in the furnace of affliction and have come out as pure gold. The days are soon coming when I will cause those who are speaking from a lying spirit to see their judgment come swiftly upon them because I will not be mocked,”
saith the Lord God Almighty.
As I heard God speaking this to me, I began to see not only prophets but other ministers as well who are very quick to utter the words of prophecy, but behind closed doors they secretly spread lies, discord about other true prophets and ministers out of jealousy and an egotistical, self-serving spirit.
God is saying they have missed the time of their visitation and their names have become Ichabod because they have deceived His people and scattered the sheep. The arms, legs, feet, hands, ankles, elbows, fingers, toes, each have their own individual function in the body and must allow the head to lead.
Amos 3:7 says “God does nothing unless He reveals His secret to His servants the prophets.” The Word of God hangs on the law and the prophets so the word given must come forth out of a pure mouth in order for God to be true to His Word to confirm It with signs following, (Mark 16).
Yes, integrity with God will cause Him to honor His Word. Have you purified and tamed your tongue to be counted worthy to be called a ‘mouthpiece’ for God?
