HALT! Get Some Outside Perspective!
When anyone 💥 acts out 💥 when they are:
➡️ Hungry. Angry. Lonely. Tired…
… and it becomes a way of life, the conviction and help from the Holy Spirit is put on a back burner and self-will becomes king or queen of the heart.
Often, those needing to address this in their lives, project their issues and behaviors back onto others in order to avoid the humbling of self, and a willingness to seek counsel from others outside of their own circle of influence and relationships.
This is due to the need to hide and justify escalating behaviors or to deflect conviction.
Many families, businesses, and relationships have been shattered and exhausted over those who act out, escalate, and develop “selective amnesia” (not remembering the damaging words or actions that they exhibited) and refuse the voice of God’s grace, offered through prompting them to humble themselves and not hide beside a false humility or secret life that they think that no one else might see.
It is so important seek unbiased counseling in order to be free from the “hooks” that pull hearts away from honest and humility-filled dialog, that can hopefully lead to reconciliation with others in your circle of life and love.
Reconciliation comes from the Greek family of words that has its roots in “allasso”. The easier more common meaning to this word group is “change” or “exchange.”
Reconciliation involves a change in the relationship between God and man or man (woman) and man (woman).
It assumes there has been a breakdown in the relationship, but now there has been a change from a state of hostility and fragmentation to one of harmony and fellowship.
In Romans 5:6-11, Paul says that before reconciliation we were powerless, ungodly, sinners, and enemies!
We were under God’s wrath (v. 9). BUT! Because of change or reconciliation we become new creatures. “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!” (2 Corinthians 5:17).
Change can take place when we H.A.L.T. and have an honest heart check….. and humbly make a decision to allow some real accountability and be open with others who will be honest and fair about addressing what at times, hinders us from being unfettered, stuck, bitter or hurt.
“So if you know of an opportunity to do the right thing today, yet you refrain from doing it, you’re guilty of sin.” (James 4:17 TPT)
